Sean Connery

Biography

Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 – October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer who won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery was polled in a 2004 The Sunday Herald as "The Greatest Living Scot" and in a 2011 EuroMillions survey as "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure". He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. Anthony Andrews

Biography

Anthony Andrews made his West End theater debut at the Apollo Theatre as one of twenty young schoolboys in Alan Bennett's "Forty Years On" with John Gielgud. He began his career at the Chichester Festival Theatre in the UK. His theater credits include spells with the New Shakespeare Company - "Romeo and Juliet" and "A Midsummer Night's Dream". The Royal National Theatre production of Stephen Poliakoff's "Coming in to Land" with Maggie Smith, directed by Peter Hall, the much-acclaimed Greenwich Theatre production of Robin Chapman's "One of Us" and, as "Pastor Manders", in Robin Phillips's highly acclaimed production of Henrik Ibsen's "Ghosts" at the Comedy Theatre in London, produced by Bill Kenwright. Anthony's first television appearance was in The Wednesday Play: A Beast with Two Backs (1968) by Dennis Potter, which was part of The Wednesday Play (1964) series. His first leading role in a series was as the title character in the BBC's The Fortunes of Nigel (1974) by Sir Walter Scott. Subsequently, he distinguished himself in various television classics playing "Mercutio" in Romeo & Juliet (1978) and starred in three different plays in the "Play of the Month" (1976) series, including playing "Charles Harcourt" in "London Assurance". He also starred in Danger UXB (1979), in which he played bomb disposal hero "Brian Ash". Most famously, he received worldwide recognition for his portrayal of the doomed "Sebastian Flyte" in Brideshead Revisited (1981) for which he won a BAFTA in the UK, the Golden Globe award in the USA and an Emmy nomination for Best Actor. Anthony's since gone on to star in Jewels (1992), for which he received another Golden Globe nomination. Most recently, Anthony has received tremendous acclaim for his outstanding portrayal of "Count Fosco" in "The Woman In White" at the Palace Theatre in London's West End. As a producer, he co-produced Lost in Siberia (1991), which translates as "Lost in Siberia", filmed entirely in Russia, which received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Foreign Film and Haunted (1995), produced by his own production company, Double 'A' Films.

Carlos Montalbán

Carlos Montalbán (June 5, 1903 – March 28, 1991) was a Mexican character actor. Montalbán was born in Mexico City, Distrito Federal, the son of Spanish immigrants Ricarda (née Merino) and Jenaro Montalbán, a store manager. He was the older brother of actor Ricardo Montalbán. Although not as famous as his younger brother, he is notable for having starred as "El Exigenté" in a series of coffee advertisements for Savarin Coffee in the 1960s and for portraying two different characters named "Vargas". The first time in the Jack Lemmon film The Out-of-Towners (1970) and then again in Woody Allen's Bananas (1971). His most famous American film was the boxing drama The Harder They Fall (1956) in which he played the sympathetic manager of a heavyweight contender. Montalbán was also a renowned voice-over actor and announcer; he was best known as the official Spanish language voice for Marlboro cigarettes worldwide. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Bernard Morton "Bernie" Kopell (born June 21, 1933) is an American television character actor who is probably best known for his role as Dr. Adam Bricker ("Doc") in The Love Boat. He also portrayed Alan-a-Dale in When Things Were Rotten, Jerry Bauman in That Girl, Siegfried in Get Smart, and Louie Pallucci in The Doris Day Show. Kopell also played several characters on the hit sitcom Bewitched including the witches' Apothecary, and the warlock Alonzo in episode # 239, "The Warlock in the Gray Flannel Suit." He played a director in an episode of Alfred Hitchcock Presents ("Good-Bye George," original air date December 13, 1963). About this same time, he guest starred on Phil Silvers's unsuccessful sitcom The New Phil Silvers Show on CBS. He had a cameo as a patient in the Scrubs episode, "My Friend the Doctor", as well as an episode of the Disney Channel Original Series, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. He also portrayed a plastic surgeon who gave Ed Brown a facelift on Chico and the Man. Kopell's role as Doc on The Love Boat was parodied in a humorous cameo appearance on Late Show with David Letterman in 1995. Two entries in that night's Top Ten List poked fun at The Love Boat, one at the Doc character specifically. Recently he has been seen in television advertisements for Nasalcrom, carefully enunciating the product's name and assuring viewers "that's right, it's a spray". Kopell has also appeared as guest star in the Monk episode "Mr. Monk and the Critic", playing Mr. Gilson, the restroom attendant. Kopell also guest starred in a 2009 episode of My Name is Earl entitled "Pinky." Kopell has performed in the theater and played the lead role in the off Broadway production of "Viagra Falls" in 2010. ​From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Edwina Beth "Edy" Williams (born July 9, 1942) is an American television and film actress. She began her career as a model and beauty pageant contestant. After winning several local pageants, she was signed as a contract player by 20th Century Fox. Throughout the 1960s, Williams appeared in several television series and films including roles in The Beverly Hillbillies, The Twilight Zone, Batman, Adam-12, Lost in Space, The Naked Kiss, and the Sonny & Cher film, Good Times (1967). In 1970, she appeared as Ashley St. Ives in Russ Meyer's first mainstream film, Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, followed by his second, The Seven Minutes. Meyer and Williams married in 1970, shortly after the release of Beyond the Valley of the Dolls. In March 1973, she was photographed for Playboy in a full color photo spread by then-husband Russ Meyer. After her divorce from Meyer in 1977, Williams continued acting, mainly appearing in films, many of which involved nudity. In 1982, she appeared on an episode of The People's Court as a defendant in a case titled "The Star Who Wouldn't Pay". She was sued for payment for publicity work the plaintiff had done for her. She counter-sued for half of the retainer she'd paid him. After this, she was sporadically active in films during the 1980s and early 1990s.
