Sean Connery

Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 – October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer who won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery was polled in a 2004 The Sunday Herald as "The Greatest Living Scot" and in a 2011 EuroMillions survey as "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure". He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. Simon Richard Evans (born 31 December 1983) is an English theatre and television director, writer, and actor. As a theatre director, his productions include The Dazzle (starring Andrew Scott), Bug (James Norton), The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui (Lenny Henry), Killer Joe (Orlando Bloom) and A Day in the Death of Joe Egg (Toby Stephens and Claire Skinner). As an actor, his early roles include parts in Stig of the Dump (2002) and Lewis (2007). During the COVID-19 pandemic, he wrote, directed and co-starred in the BBC Television series Staged, playing himself, alongside exaggerated versions of the show's stars, Michael Sheen and David Tennant.

Philippe Joly

Philippe Joly (Chinese: 狼森; pinyin: Lángsēn) is a french actor born in Moscow, Russia. Joly regularly plays the villain in Action films in Asia, and appeared alongside major actors in the region including Jackie Chan, Chow Yun Fat, Andy Lau, Takeshi Kaneshiro, and Jean-Claude Van Damme. In his role as Decimus in Jackie Chan’s film Dragon Blade, he shared the screen with American actors John Cusack and Adrien Brody, and French singer/actress Lorie Pester. Recent projects include Juno Mak's latest film "Sons of The Neon Night" (Chinese: 風林火山), The White Storm 2 - Drug Lords (Chinese: 扫毒2天地对决), and the Chinese Sci-fi action film Ultimate Code (Chinese: 终极代码) in which Joly plays a lead role as the main villain alongside a Chinese cast and fellow french actor and Parkour founder David Belle. Aside from acting, Joly is a supporter of independent filmmaking, and regularly writes screenplays, and directs short films in Hong Kong. He speaks several languages (French, Russian, Italian and English), is an avid practitioner of close-up magic and card manipulation, and has trained in various Martial Arts since the age of 5. While not a stuntman, Joly often has to perform stunts as required by the Action film genre and the type of characters he plays.

A veteran of many films in the 1950s and 1960s, Wagner gained prominence in three American television series that spanned three decades: It Takes a Thief (1968–70), Switch (1975–78), and Hart to Hart (1979–84). In movies, Wagner is known for his role as Number Two in the Austin Powers films (1997, 1999, 2002). He also had a recurring role as Teddy Leopold on the TV sitcom Two and a Half Men. Wagner's autobiography, Pieces of My Heart: A Life, written with author Scott Eyman, was published on September 23, 2008.

Alexis Minotis (Greek: Αλέξης Μινωτής; born Alexandros Minotakis (Greek: Αλέξανδρος Μινωτάκης)(8 August 1900 – 11 November 1990) was a Greek actor and director. He first appeared on stage in his native Crete as Chorus Leader and later as Messenger in Sophocles' Oedipus Tyrannus. From 1925 until 1930, he worked in close collaboration with the famous Greek actress Marika Kotopouli in her own theatre. During this period, he appeared in the great Shakespearan roles in The Merchant of Venice, King Lear, Macbeth and played the title role in Hamlet, the first time the play had been staged in Greece. Other roles in the classical repertoire were Henrik Ibsen's Ghosts and Peer Gynt. He expanded his talents by directing ancient Greek tragedies such as Hecuba, Antigone, The Phoenissae, Prometheus Bound, Oedipus at Colonus, as well as Seán O'Casey's Juno and the Paycock, August Strindberg's The Father and Brecht's Mother Courage. In 1940, he married the actress Katina Paxinou, and together they appeared in many productions at the National Theatre of Greece in Athens, which was founded in 1930 by Minister of Education Georgios Papandreou. In 1946, he went to Hollywood to appear in Alfred Hitchcock's Notorious with Cary Grant, Ingrid Bergman and Claude Rains. In the same year, he also appeared with Robert Cummings and Michèle Morgan in The Chase. His other films include Siren of Atlantis (1949) with Maria Montez, Boy on a Dolphin (1957) with Sophia Loren, and Land of the Pharaohs (1955) with Joan Collins. In 1955, he directed Katina Paxinou in Euripides' Hecuba for the National Theatre of Greece at The Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus and starred in Oedipus Rex as well as directing. In 1956, he made his first appearance in Oedipus at Colonus. The production received great acclaim, and Minotis went on a long international tour with the company. He appeared on Broadway in Electra with the Marika Kotopouli company in 1930-31 and in Oedipus Tyrannus with the National Theatre of Greece in 1952. In 1958, Minotis directed Maria Callas in a production of Medea presented in Dallas. The production was then seen at Covent Garden, Teatro alla Scala and Epidaurus. He also directed the Greek National Opera production of Norma with Callas in Epidaurus in 1960.

Dorothy Short

Biography

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Dorothy Short (1915 - 1963) was an American film actress mainly in low-budget westerns and serials in the 1930s and 1940s. A native of Philadelphia, she married actor Dave O'Brien in 1936, the same year they appeared together in the low-budget exploitation cheapie Reefer Madness, which in modern times has become a well-known cult film. She also appeared in another anti-marijuana film Assassin of Youth in 1937. She often appeared alongside her husband in various 'B' pictures and the Pete Smith series of comedy shorts, in which O'Brien played the lead on many occasions during the 1940s. After their divorce in 1954, Short retired from film acting, and died nine years later at age 47. Alana De La Garza was born in Columbus, Ohio and later relocated to Texas, ultimately attending the University of Texas. After college, she moved to Orlando, Florida, landing roles in a number of independent films as well as commercials. Her work took her to New York, where she studied extensively under renowned acting instructor JoAnna Beckson. After getting her break as Rosa Santos on the daytime drama All My Children (1970), Alana moved to Los Angeles, a slew of guest spots followed. One of the most recognizable was her role as a con artist on the hit show Las Vegas (2003), followed by a series lead on the WB's The Mountain (2004). She starred in the romantic comedy Mr. Fix It (2006) opposite David Boreanaz and appeared on several episodes of CSI: Miami (2002). She joined the cast of Law & Order (1990) in June 2006 for several seasons and the moved to Law & Order: LA. She went on to star in the TV series Do No Harm (2013), Forever (2014), and Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders (2016). In 2019, she landed a major role on the TV series FBI and has appeared in several crossover episodes of its' spinoff series FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International. Jozef Waite is an actor, known for Dragon Blade (2015), Demon Girl (2016) and Grade One (2014). He is the brother of actress Daisy Waite. Jozef broke a bone in his foot doing his own stunts for Dragon Blade (2015). Some scenes had to be modified to take into account Jozef could no longer walk as his foot was in a cast. At 6 years old, Jozef used 4 languages on the set of Dragon Blade (2015). Jozef spoke Mandarin to Jackie Chan and the Chinese crew members. English to John Cusackand the western actors. A Chinese local dialect to his mother. And learned to sing in Latin for the movie. Jozef began reading the news on Jinyin katong (2009) at 3 years old and had filmed over 100 episodes of before his 4th birthday. Jozef was vacationing when notified about the opportunity to film Dragon Blade (2015). So his audition tape was filmed in the hallway of a Malaysian hotel on an ipad. Jozef had to keep his appearance in Dragon Blade (2015) a secret on request of the Grade One (2014) producers, as they were worried the audience would label the reality show "fake" if they were using an actor.

Lance Evers known professionally by his ring name Lance Storm, is a semi-retired Canadian professional wrestler. He is known for his work in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), World Championship Wrestling (WCW), and Ring of Honor (ROH). Between those four promotions, Storm won 13 total championships (seven being tag team titles), including holding three championships cocurrently during his WCW stint.
