Biography

Caleb Casey McGuire Affleck-Boldt (born August 12, 1975) is an American actor and filmmaker. He is the recipient of various accolades, including an Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award, a Golden Globe Award and a Satellite Award. He began his career as a child actor, appearing in the PBS television film Lemon Sky (1988) and the miniseries The Kennedys of Massachusetts (1990). He later appeared in three Gus Van Sant films: To Die For (1995), Good Will Hunting (1997), and Gerry (2002), and in Steven Soderbergh's comedy heist trilogy Ocean's Eleven (2001), Ocean's Twelve (2004), and Ocean's Thirteen (2007). His first leading role was in Steve Buscemi's independent comedy-drama Lonesome Jim (2006). Affleck's breakthrough came in 2007, when he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the Western drama The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford and starred in the crime drama Gone Baby Gone, directed by his brother Ben Affleck. In 2010, he directed the mockumentary I'm Still Here. He then had a string of successful films in the early 2010s, including Tower Heist (2011), ParaNorman (2012) and Interstellar (2014), and received particular praise for his performance as an outlaw in the indie film Ain't Them Bodies Saints (2013). In 2016, Affleck starred in the drama film Manchester by the Sea. For his performance as Lee Chandler, a man grieving the loss of his children and his brother, he received universal acclaim and won the Critics' Choice Movie Award, Golden Globe Award, British Academy Film Award and Academy Award for Best Actor, and received a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination. In 2017, Affleck received critical acclaim for his leading role in the supernatural drama film A Ghost Story.

Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 – October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer who won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. James B. Sikking

Biography

An American actor known for his role as Lt. Howard Hunter on the 1980s NBC TV series Hill Street Blues. He also starred on the ABC TV series Doogie Howser, M.D. as Dr. David Howser and on the short-lived 1997 CBS drama series Brooklyn South as Captain Stan Jonas. Sikking did the voice of General Gordon on the short-lived 1998 cartoon series Invasion America. His well known films include The Competition, Outland, Up the Creek and Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, in which he played Captain Styles, the captain of the USS Excelsior. Sikking's film career started in 1955. Sikking starred in the critically acclaimed 1992 Fox Network TV movie Doing Time on Maple Drive. He has made guest appearances on many TV series including Perry Mason, Rawhide, Bonanza, The Outer Limits, General Hospital, Hunter and Batman Beyond. Sikking was born in Los Angeles, California. His mother, Sue Sikking (née Paxton), was a founder of Santa Monica's Unity-by-the-Sea Church. He has two living brothers, Tom and Art, and a sister, Joy. James Barrie Sikking has a third brother, Robert Paxton Sikking born October 20, 1922, died April 22, 1988. His brother Bob served in the 101st Airborne and was a partial inspiration for Stephen Speilberg and Tom Hanks production Band of Brothers. Bob was awarded two purple hearts, the bronze star, and together with his fellow soldiers, received a presidential citation for their part in the Siege of Bastogne which led to the defeat of Hitler's sixth Army. His photograph as the first American soldier to reach Dachau Concentration Camp appears in the Imperial War Museum, London. Sikking is the father of actor Andrew Sikking.

Biography

From Wikipedia Sue Carol (October 30, 1906 – February 4, 1982) was an American actress and talent agent. While at a social function in Los Angeles in 1927, a director offered her a part in a film. She took it and began playing minor parts. Carol's film career lasted from the late 1920s into the 1930s, and when it ended she became a talent agent; one of her clients was Alan Ladd, to whom she was married from 1942 until his death in 1964. Carol was born Evelyn Lederer in Chicago, Illinois to Caroline, a German Jewish immigrant, and Samuel Lederer, a Jewish immigrant from Austria. One of the WAMPAS Baby Stars, she performed in motion pictures from 1927 until 1937. Among the movies in which she appeared are Fox Movietone Follies of 1929 and Girls Gone Wild (both 1929). Her films were made in association with producer Cecil B. DeMille and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. After retiring from acting in the late 1930s, Carol established her own talent agency, the Sue Carol Agency. Among her discoveries was Julie London. Carol died on February 4, 1982 in Los Angeles, California, from a heart attack and is interred next to Alan Ladd in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Glendale, California. For her contribution to the motion picture industry, Carol has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 1639 N. Vine Street. In 1998, a Golden Palm Star on the Palm Springs, California, Walk of Stars was dedicated to her.

Thanasis Papageorgiou is a Greek director and actor. It has staged approximately 130 plays and is in its 53rd theatrical season. He was born in Kaisariani on February 16, 1938. He studied Theater at the Drama School of Christos Vachliotis. His first theatrical appearance took place in 1962 in the troupe of K. Livadeas. Until 1965 he collaborated with the troupes V. Diamantopoulou-M. Alkaiou, Titou Vandis, Mirandas-Barkoulis, United Artists, Eleftheras Skenis, etc. so he leaves the theater and works in Cinema, shooting as a director, screenwriter and actor the film "Epi eschatis prodossia" (1968) On television he directed plays for the Monday Theater. He also directed, together with Paul Slave, and starred in the series "Madame Soussou". He participated in the series "The Lottery" (N. Alevras), "Mikres adgieli", "Mikori magolii" (Aris Papatheodorou) and "13th box" (T. Psarras) and Postcard directed by Giorgos Papavasiliou based on short stories by Victoria Hislop. Also on television, he has directed and performed roles in adaptations of the Lodge's plays as well as stand-alone children's films. In cinema, he has starred in Elina Psykou's film "Son of Sophia"(2015), where he was honored with the Best Actor award from the Hellenic Cinema Academy and in Zacharias Mavroides' film "The retired" (2018) and had friendly participations in films by Tsberopoulos and Perakis (Sudden Love, Goodbye, Life and Politics).

Barbara La Marr

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Barbara La Marr (born Reatha Dale Watson; July 28, 1896 – January 30, 1926) was an American film actress and screenwriter who appeared in 27 films during her career between 1920 and 1926. La Marr was also noted by the media for her beauty, dubbed as "The Girl Who Is Too Beautiful," as well as her tumultuous personal life. During her career, La Marr became known as the pre-eminent vamp of the 1920s; she partied and drank heavily, once remarking to the press that she only slept two hours a night. In 1924, her health began to falter after a series of crash diets for comeback roles further affected her lifestyle, leading to her death from pulmonary tuberculosis and nephritis at age 29. She was posthumously honored on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for her contributions to the film industry.
