Magali Noël

Biography

Magali Noël (born Magali Noëlle Guiffray; June 27, 1932) is a Turkish-French actress and singer. Originally from Izmir, she emigrated from Turkey to France in 1951, and her acting career began soon thereafter. She acted in multilingual cinema chiefly from 1951 to 1980, doing several films in Italian with renowned director Federico Fellini, for whom she was a favourite subject. She also acted in films directed by such well-known names as Costa Gavras, Jean Renoir, and Jules Dassin. Her career extended to television movies from roughly 1980 to 2002. Her recording career began in France in 1956, and her most famous song was Fais-moi mal, Johnny (Hurt me Johnny), written by Boris Vian. This song was one of the first rock'n'roll songs with French lyrics. It has been forbidden on the radio during a long time due to its risqué lyrics describing - with a great sense of humour and derision - a sadomasochistic episode. Sean Connery

Biography

Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 – October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer who won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery was polled in a 2004 The Sunday Herald as "The Greatest Living Scot" and in a 2011 EuroMillions survey as "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure". He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. Turino Junaidy

Biography

Turino Junaidy was an Indonesian filmmaker. Born in Padangtiji, Aceh. Education: SLA, Radio Telegraphist course in Medan (1943), Cinematography & film production course in Tokyo (1964), in support of the Colombo Plan. In Sumatra, Turino circulated Egyptian films with satisfactory results. For the first time saw the film Indonesia Waiting for Love (1949) in Medan. He was interested in the film starring Hamid Arief when Turino tried to get Indonesian films in Jakarta to be distributed. In Jakarta, he was even offered to play in a film by the company Golden Arrow (now Panah Mas). Even though he was confused, he eventually appeared in several films, including Lamenting the Heart (1950), Seruni Laju (1951), Si Mientje (1952), under the name T. Djunaedi. Because his first intention was to enter film as a merchant, in the early 1950s he founded his own company, G.A.F. Sang Saka — which produced Pulang (1952), Rentjong & Surat (1953), Sri Asih (1954), and Corporal Djono (1954), in which he was also the main player. In Sri Asih, he also served as Director, playing with Mimi Mariani who later became his wife between 1955-1958. Then he played for other film companies. Among them appeared in Oh My Mother (1955) and Taman Harapan (1957). And on December 13, 1959, he founded his own company again PT Sarinande Film (until now). His first production was Iseng (1959) which featured the names Alwi and Oslan Hussein. PT Sarinande has produced more than 30 films since early 1978. Turino also mentored assistant directors who later became directors, such as Hasmanan and Bay Isbahi. When the film world was hit by the downturn in the 1960s, Sarinande was never absent from filmmaking. Turino's name became more and more famous after making Breathing in the Mud (1970) which achieved tremendous commercial success. Subsequent films from Turino no longer made as much money as Breathe In Mud. Apart from being active in his company, as a director, producer, director, and story/screenwriter, Turino is also active in film organizations, such as PPFI and the National Foundation for the Indonesian Film Festival (YFI). This foundation has been organizing FFI every year since 1973. Among his films: are Madju Tak Gentar (1964), Djakarta Hongkong Macao (1968), Intan Berduri (1972), where Benjamin S and Rima Melati were selected as the Best Players of FFI 1973, Wadjah A Man (1971) , Honeymoon Mist (1972), End of a Dream (1973), Boyfriend (1974), Crisis X (1975), Hot Twists of Love (1976), Selangit Mesra (1977), Adventurer of Love (78), and others. Michael Edward Mills (born December 17, 1958) is an American multi-instrumentalist, singer, and composer who was a founding member of the alternative rock band R.E.M. Though known primarily as the bass guitarist and backing vocalist of R.E.M., his musical repertoire also includes keyboards and occasional lead vocals. He contributed to a majority of the band's musical compositions and is the only member to have had formal musical training. Armelle Deutsch (born 22 February 1979) is a French actress. Armelle was born in the Bouches-du-Rhône. At the age of 13, Deutsch started acting classes and joined her first theatre group within Le Théâtre d'Astroméla. She then, plays a few plays, directed by Akel Akian in Marseille. At the age of 18, she decides to finish her acting training in Paris and enrolls at the famous Cours Florent. She then conducts the auditions in the hopes of landing a role on the big screen. One of her first appearances that made her known was in Francis Veber's comedy Le Placard, in which she plays Michèle Laroque. Following the success of the movie, Armelle increases her appearances and becomes a well-known actress in France. Since, she has appeared in more than sixty films since 2000. Armelle met actor Thomas Jouannet, a Swiss actor on the set of the TV drama "L'Affaire Dominici" in 2003. The two actors fall in love at first sight and never leave each other. On June 26, 2010, they got married. They have two kids. The pair lives in a quiet village in Loir-et-Cher. She made her first appearances in 2000 with a few small television roles - Vérité oblige, Navarro, One and one make six, Le Grand Patron. In the year 2001, she stood out in the role of Michèle Laroque's secretary in Francis Veber's successful comedy, Le Placard (2001). The same year, she played in the comedy La Boîte, directed by Claude Zidi. In 2003, she played a small role in the comedy-drama "Laisse tes mains sur mes hanches" , directed by Chantal Lauby, and made an appearance in Francis Veber's new film, "Tais-toi!". In 2004, she played roles in "Nos Amis les flics", by Bob Swaim, and "Le Carton", by Charles Nemes. She, then, lands a TV role in a detective series, playing Élodie Bradford, a French television series with 5 90 minutes- episodes, created by Lionel Bailliu and broadcast between October 20, 2004, and February 9, 2007, on M6. At the same time, she plays roles in comedies; in 2007, "Fracassés", by Franck Llopis, "La différence, c'est que c'est pas pareil", by Pascal Laëthier, and "Aime-Moi" (Short Film), by David Courtil. Anthony Harvey (born 3 June 1931) was a British filmmaker who started his career in the 1950s as a film editor and moved into directing in the mid-1960s. Harvey had fifteen film credits as an editor, and thirteen as a director. The second film that Harvey directed, The Lion in Winter (1968), earned him a Directors Guild of America Award and a nomination for the Academy Award for Directing. Thomas Rosales Jr. (born 3 February 1948) is an American stunt man who has appeared in more than one hundred and fifty movies. His first known appearance as a stuntman was in Battle for the Planet of the Apes in 1973. Rosales is arguably one of Hollywood's most recognizable stunt performers due to speaking roles, including ones where a film's protagonist wounds or kills him. Ottaviano Dell'Acqua

Biography

Born to a family of other actors and stunt performers, Ottaviano Dell'Acqua started acting in Italian Spaghetti Western productions as a child. Due to his boyish looks and enthusiasm for taking risks, he found himself more and more in demand as both a stunt performer and character actor throughout the 1970's, often appearing alongside one or more of his siblings (Roberto, Alberto, and Arnoldo). In the 1980's he turned to stunt coordinating and has worked steadily on both major Hollywood productions, as well as smaller European films, ever since. He may be best remembered by horror fans as the man behind the worm-eyed zombie mask on the poster for Lucio Fulci's ZOMBIE (aka ZOMBI 2) though has possibly the most mainstream exposure in GANGS OF NEW YORK as one of Bill the Butcher's lead henchmen. His only leading roles have been under the name "Richard Raymond" for director Bruno Mattei, particularly in 1983's RATS: THE NIGHTS OF TERROR in which he is top-billed. Curiously the same year he appeared in numerous other post-apocalyptic films (RAGE and AFTER THE FALL OF NEW YORK) in which he isn't billed at all.

Roekiah

Biography

Born in Bandung, Died in Jakarta. This brilliant star who elevates the player's position in widespread attention is known as the romantic couple Rd. Mochtar. starting with Terang Boelan (1937) by Albert Balink, the first film to suit the tastes of the audience. Roekiah's name became more popular before playing in the film Fatimah (1938). Because something happened to R. Djoemala in the film Kuda Sembrani (1941), but the result was not as great as what he achieved with his films with Rd. Mochtar. Then he played in the films Black Crow (1939), Siti Akbari (1939), Sorga Ketoedjoeh (1940), Roekihati (1941), and The Terpendam Poesaka (1941). Roekiah re-paired with Rd. Mochtar in Crossing (1944). Shortly after finishing the film, Roekiah fell ill and in 1945 breathed his last and received the honor of Ki Hajar Dewantoro, Minister of Education and Culture of the First Cabinet of the Republic of Indonesia. Roekiah grew up in senior roles, because both of his parents were artists and artists of the opera association "Poesi Indra Bangsawan". When his parents moved to the main Rochani Opera society, Roekiah appeared on stage for the first time at the age of 7 years. Ten years later his name became famous before appearing in the "Palistina Opera" performances in Jakarta. The 17-year-old girl at that time met the young man Kartolo's heart desires, the player and leader of the Palistine Opera Orchestra, who later became her husband. In his films with Rd. Mochtar, a pioneer in the world of Indonesian film stars, always brings her husband's songs. Kartolo also always appears in films starring his wife as a funny character/comedian.
