Emma Lahana

Biography

Emma Kate Lahana (born 27 June 1984) is an actress and singer. She became involved in the arts at a very young age doing ballet and broadened her dancing to jazz, tap and modern styles. She also learnt to play the violin but once in high school became involved in drama as well as singing. It was here that she auditioned for a long-running New Zealand TV soap, Shortland Street (1992) and was surprised to be given the part of "Erin Kingston" which she played for 2 seasons. She performed in many lead roles in musicals for ACMT. In 2002, she starred in the Disney movie You Wish! (2003) and, in 2003, landed a lead role in Power Rangers DinoThunder (2004) as Kira Ford/The Yellow Ranger. Emma is currently in the US recording music for her first CD.

Sean Connery

Biography

Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 – October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer who won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery was polled in a 2004 The Sunday Herald as "The Greatest Living Scot" and in a 2011 EuroMillions survey as "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure". He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. James Flynn

Biography

James Flynn is a native of Ireland. After completing an English degree at University College Cork, he moved to France and fell in love with French cinema. The spirit of adventure led to life in a few more European countries before setting up a theatre company, Practicum Theatre, with two fellow writers. The aim was to produce the work of emerging writers and directors. Three very productive years and a few festivals later, he left the company on a high note, producing the UK premiere of the American play, The Viewing Room, in London’s renowned West End.

Jane Elizabeth Leeves (born 18 April 1961) is an English actress, comedian, and dancer. She is best known for her role as Daphne Moon on NBC's sitcom Frasier (1993–2004), for which she was nominated for an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award. She's also known for her roles as Dr. Kitt Voss on The Resident and Joy Scroggs on TV Land's sitcom Hot in Cleveland. She made her screen debut with a small role in the 1983 popular British comedy television show Benny Hill Show, Leeves moved to the United States, where she performed in small roles until she secured a recurring part in the television sitcom Murphy Brown. In 1986-1988, she garnered her first leading role in the short-living sitcom Throb. In 1993, she achieved wider fame as Daphne Moon on the television sitcom Frasier for the entire run of the series, from 1993 until 2004, for which she was nominated for Emmy Awards and Golden Globe Awards during the show's run. She received further recognition for her performances in Miracle on 34th Street (1994), Music of the Heart (1999) and The Event (2003). She worked in television production for some time, but beginning in June 2010, she returned to acting, as Joy on TV Land’s sitcom Hot in Cleveland. Born and raised in Montreal, Jesse Rath is best known for his role as Carter Boyd in the CBC series 18 to Life, for which he received a 2010 and 2011 Gemini Award nomination. Other small screen credits include lead roles in Mudpit and Disney Channel’s Aaron Stone as well as guest star appearances in Cra$h and Burn, My Babysitter’s a Vampire, and Being Human. Rath’s feature film credits include The Greatest Game Ever Played, Prom Wars, The Howling: Reborn and The Trotsky (opposite Jay Baruchel). Rath is a diehard comic book fan and when he isn’t working, he can be found scouring local stores around Los Angeles, Toronto and Montreal. He is also one of the creators and stars of the popular web series Fans. His sister is Canadian actress Meaghan Rath. He guest starred as her onscreen brother on the fellow Syfy show Being Human.

Carlos Ponce

Biography

Carlos Ponce is a Puerto Rican actor, singer, composer and television personality. Ponce was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico. His parents, Carlos Ponce, Sr. and Esther Freyre, emigrated from Cuba after the Cuban Revolution led by Fidel Castro. After his birth, the family moved to Humacao where Ponce was raised. As a child, he would actively participate in his school's plays and at home he would often put on a show for the family where he would sing the latest tunes. "Carlitos", as he is known in Puerto Rico, started to appear in television commercials at the age of six. He attended high school in Humacao and was a member of the school's drama club. In 1986, the Ponce family moved to Miami, Florida and Ponce continued to participate in his school's productions. He was named the best student actor of the southern region of the United States. In 1990, Ponce participated in the Southeastern Theatre Conference and competed for the chance to win a scholarship. He won and enrolled in the New World School of the Arts conservatory. However, the Spanish-language television station Univision offered Ponce the opportunity to host a show called Hablando (Talking). This was his first serious television debut and after his debut he gave up his university studies.

John Duigan

Duigan emigrated to Australia in 1961, having been born to an Australian father. He is related to many Australian performers, being the brother of Virginia Duigan (wife of director Bruce Beresford) and uncle of Trilby Beresford. Duigan has directed 23 films, including Romero, Lawn Dogs, The Parole Officer, Sirens, and Head in the Clouds. He intended his magnum opus to be The Danny Embling Trilogy, three films centered around the character Danny Embling, an artistic youth growing up in 1960s Australia whose life is influenced by the socially changing world around him and a series of doomed love affairs. The first two films in the series were the critically acclaimed The Year My Voice Broke, and Flirting, both of which won the Australian Film Institute awards for best picture the years they were released. Leesa, the daughter of an artist and a college professor, grew up in Austin, Texas. She studied broadcast journalism at Texas Tech and acting at the Stella Adler Studio in Los Angeles, CA . Leesa has a vast cult following for her role as Victoria in Troma Entertainment's Class of Nuke 'Em High Parts 2 and 3 and also appeared in Return To Nuke 'Em High. She acted in Troma's television series Troma's Edge along with Lloyd Kaufman and Debbie Rochon. She co-starred in Travis Campbell's Slaughter Daughter as Phyllis Adjani as an eccentric mother who drives her daughter to insanity. The movie won best feature film at Orlando's 7th Annual Freak Show Film Festival. Leesa co-starred in a web series called Two City Girls with fellow Troma actress Lisa Gaye and also appeared on Oxygen's Jersey Couture. Leesa's biggest passion in life is animal advocacy and she has been a vegan most of her life.
