Gloria María Aspillera Díaz (born 10 March 1951 in Aringay, La Union) is an award-winning actress in the Philippines, and the first Filipino to win the Miss Universe crown in 1969 in Miami Beach, Florida. Often cited as being part of the Díaz clan in newspapers, she is one of twelve children (10 girls and 2 boys). Díaz was approached by an individual who believed she would do well in the Miss Universe competition and groomed the young woman. Díaz was only 18 when she became Miss Universe 1969 after besting other candidates on the final question. It was about how to welcome the first men that had just landed on the moon -- Neil Armstrong, Edwin Aldrin and Michael Collins—as soon as they were back on the planet. She was crowned at the International American-owned pageant in Miami Beach, Florida, U.S. after their footage was set on the Statue of Liberty in New York. Díaz is a well-known actress in Philippine cinema and television. Her box-office mettle and acting prowess were honoured with the coveted FAMAS Award from the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences for Best Supporting Actress in the 2005 FAMAS Best Picture Nasaan Ka Man. Díaz studied at St. Scholastica's College Manila. She is married to businessman Gabriel "Bong" Daza, with whom she has two daughters, Isabelle and Ava.

Bill Jacobson

Biography

Bill Jacobson grew up in the small Northwest city of Tacoma. He first started acting at the age of 10 doing school theater on a regular basis. His acting teachers always looked to Bill to help carry the performances and felt he had something special that could lead him to discover his talents even more. As he grew to a man he kept up with his acting but slowed down to pursue his interest in athletics. He played high school football where he developed into a promising player. Upon graduating high school he attended Washington State University, where he majored in Journalism and minored in Psychology. His parent didn't have a lot of money and so he was accepted on the work study program and between that and a lot of loans managed to get through almost five years of school. While in school he discovered rugby and fell in love with the game. He also re-discovered his passion for acting and started focusing more on Theatre. He graduated College and started working in the corporate world in the sales arena. He seemed to have a skill in relationship building with his clients and became quite successful. In 1994 Bill had an opportunity to be transfered to Los Angeles with a large company as a territory sales manager. He didn't hesitate, packed his bags and moved down to beautiful Southern California. The next couple of years he focused on the job that brought him there but started feeling anxious about his true passion, acting. He was so close to it, surrounded by it that it started to consume him. He started taking more and more acting classes, putting together head shots, his resume, and started slowly seeking an agent. By 1998 he quit his corporate job, burnt his power ties and started acting. Within the first year of freedom, He joined The Screen Actors Guild, got an agent and landed his first film. Since then Bill has done countless indie films, National commercials, and has co-starred and guest-starred on countless TV shows. Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 – October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer who won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. Raul Salvador Intini Pepe Roulien (7 October 1904 – 8 September 2000), known professionally as Raul Roulien, was a Brazilian actor, singer, screenwriter and film director.[1] He is widely considered the first male Brazilian star in Hollywood. He worked briefly in Hollywood in the waning days of the American movies' embrace of the "Latin lover" (a title invented for the Italian actor Rudolph Valentino), a phenomenon that encouraged the Jewish-American actor Jacob Krantz to change his name to Ricardo Cortez. Raul began recording in 1928 and grew in reputation as a theater actor and composer as well, being the greatest Brazilian heartthrob of his time. That same year, he formed the theatrical company Abigail Maia-Raul Roulien, with then wife, actress Abigail Maia, authoring a genre called "frivolity theater", which were quick shows that took place between breaks in the cinema. In 1931, at the age of 29, with his talent and good looks, he went to the United States and was signed to 20th Century Fox, where he worked between 1931 and 1934. His career spanned a total of 18 films, including Delicious (1931) and Flying Down to Rio (1933), the latter starring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers in their first dance together. Veiko Õunpuu

Biography

Veiko Õunpuu (born March 16, 1972, in Saaremaa) is an Estonian film director and screenwriter who is best known for his artistic movies Autumn Ball (Sügisball, 2007) and The Temptation of St. Tony (Püha Tõnu kiusamine, 2009). Õunpuu's films are usually slow paced artistic movies with eccentric characters. In 2006 he wrote and directed the independent short film Empty (Tühirand). In 2007 he adapted Mati Unt's novel Autumn Ball (Sügisball) that won the Horizon Award at the 64th Venice International Film Festival, which remains the highest international recognition an Estonian film has ever received. In 2010 Õunpuu's second feature drama The Temptation of St. Tony (Püha Tõnu kiusamine) screened in Sundance Film Festival. The film was selected as Estonia's submission for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 83rd Academy Awards, but it didn't make the final shortlist. His third feature "Free Range" Premiered at 2014 Berlin International Film Festival and fourth "Roukli"(2015) at 28th Tokyo International Film Festival in 2016. "Free Range" was selected as the Estonian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 86th Academy Awards, but it was not nominated. Õunpuu has also done two stage directions in NO99 theatre in Tallinn. In 2010 Rainer Werner Fassbinder's play "City, Garbage and Death" and in 2016 Bertolt Brecht's "Mother Courage".

Charles Bronson (born Charles Dennis Buchinsky; November 3, 1921 – August 30, 2003) was an American actor. Known for his "granite features and brawny physique,"[2] he gained international fame for his starring roles in action, western, and war films; initially as a supporting player and later a leading man. Yukie Nakama (born October 30, 1979) is a Japanese actress, singer and former idol. She was born in Okinawa, Japan, in a fisherman's family, the youngest of five siblings. At the start of her career she was a gravure idol and singer (her debut single "Moonlight to Daybreak" was released in 1996), and appeared in bit roles until her career breakthrough playing Sadako in "Ring 0: Birthday (2000)." In 2000, Nakama demonstrated her talent for comedy with her lead role in the Japanese television drama Trick which proved so popular that it had two more seasons and three film versions, but it was the top-rating TV series Gokusen (2002), a live-action version of the popular manga, that established her as one of Japan's most popular and bankable actresses.
