Izabel Grondin

Biography

Izabel Grondin is one of the leading figures in Quebec's genre cinema, specializing in thrillers, psychological films and horror. Several of her short films have been shown around the world and have won numerous awards. She is credited with the very first DVD compilation of horror shorts in Quebec: Folie passagères : contes trash et sournois which will be followed in 2015 by: Folies passagères 2 : contes troubles et déviants. Her work has been the subject of several interviews and retrospectives. Her flagship short film La table made it to the semi-finals of the 2014 Jutra Awards race and garnered over 4 million views before her YouTube channel was forced to be taken down. She shares her passion for genre cinema and screenwriting in panels, conferences and masterclasses. Her first features films are at financing stage: "SHE WARNED US..." aka "Les oubliés" (thriller/survival, 90 min.) adaptation of the novel Le quartier des oubliés by Madeleine Robitaille "HORS-PISTE " aka "Off-Track" (psychological thriller, 80 min.)

Sean Connery

Biography

Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 – October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer who won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery was polled in a 2004 The Sunday Herald as "The Greatest Living Scot" and in a 2011 EuroMillions survey as "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure". He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. Anna Galiena

Biography

Anna Galiena (born 22 December 1954) is an Italian actress, best known to English-speaking audiences for her appearances in Le Mari de la coiffeuse, Jamón, jamón and Being Human. her youth, Galiena starred in numerous off and on-Broadway shows, including several revivals of Shakespeare plays. She had made over a dozen films, mainly in her native Italy before her role in Le Mari de la coiffeuse brought her to international attention. She went on to appear in Bigas Luna's Jamón, jamón and went on to make her mainstream Hollywood debut in the Bill Forsyth-directed Being Human starring Robin Williams. The film was, however, a massive flop. Since then, Galiena has worked in European cinema, where she is consistently in demand. With over 50 films and many television appearances to her credit, she currently has several films in production, including a prominent supporting role in the film Virgin Territory, starring Hayden Christensen and Mischa Barton. She stars alongside Joaquim de Almeida and Ben Gazzara in the thriller Christopher Roth. In 2007 she was a member of the jury at the 29th Moscow International Film Festival

Hunter Dillon

Biography

Born and raised in Vancouver BC, Hunter is most recognizable from his lead role in HOLLY HOBBIE on Hulu/Family Channel/Universal Kids, as well as his major series recurring role on season 2 of Fox's THE EXORCIST. In 2017 he had a recurring role in AMC/Netflix's DIRK GENTLY'S HOLISTIC DETECTIVE AGENCY, appeared in Fox's WAYWARD PINES and played Joey Panther, in the title episode "Who is Joey Panther" in GABBY DURAN & THE UNSITTABLES. Notably, Hunter has also portrayed a young Sam Winchester on The CW's SUPERNATURAL in addition to playing a young Peter Kavinsky on Netflix's smash hit TO ALL THE BOYS I'VE LOVED BEFORE. He is the voice of Boa Alcazaba in the popular animated series BEYBLADE BURST and is currently looking forward to the release of HOLLY HOBBIE's Season 2, which completed filming this summer 2019. Nishant Dahiya

Biography

Nishant Dahiya is an Indian actor born in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, to Rajendra Singh, an Indian Army Officer, and Urmila, a home maker. Nishant was the second of their two children, with an older brother, Prashant. Nishant saw quite a bit of India during his youth relocating with his father every couple of years before finally settling in New Delhi. After finishing high school, Nishant completed his B.Tech in comp science & engg. from Kurukshetra University, Harayana. Dominique Leduc

Biography

Dominique Leduc is an actress and a cofounder of Momentum theatre. Her work within the company has led her to write and direct several shows, including Game, 7 Façons d’Apprêter un Cadavre, and most recently, L’ardent Désir des Fleurs de Cacao. As an actress, she has appeared on many stages, such as le Théâtre du Nouveau Monde (Kean; Le Misanthrope; Tristan et Yseult), Espace GO (Toutefemme; Top Girls; Désordre public), La Licorne (Août; Un Repas à la Campagne; Doldrum Bay) and Théâtre Denise-Pelletier (Les Justes; Les Fridolinades; Les Trois Mousquetaires; and Bousille et Les Justes, for which she received a Les Masques nomination.) With Momentum, Leduc recently acted in Buffet Chinois and Mycologie, the newest creation of Stéphane Crête. During the 2010-2011 season, she toured Quebec with the play Piaf, performing the eponymous lead role. On television, she has acted in numerous soap operas and series, including Providence, Yamaska, Les Hauts et les Bas de Sophie Paquin, Temps Dur, Ces enfants d’ailleurs and Cauchemar d’Amour, which earned her a Gemini Award nomination. Biography

Simon Liu was raised between Hong Kong and Stoke-On-Trent, UK and now lives in Brooklyn, USA. Liu’s films and 16mm multiple projection performances have been presented at film festivals and institutions internationally including the International Film Festival Rotterdam: Tiger Short Competition, Toronto International Film Festival: Wavelengths, New York Film Festival: Projections, Sundance Film Festival, BFI London Film Festival, Edinburgh IFF, Hong Kong IFF, M+ Museum, Tai Kwun Contemporary, Parrish Art Museum. CROSSROADS @ SFMoMA, Festival du Nouvéau Cinéma, Hamburg Kurzfilmtage, Light Industry, Sheffield Doc/Fest, EMAF, EXiS, IMAGE FORUM and “Dreamlands: Expanded” with the Whitney Museum of American Art & Microscope Gallery. Liu is a 2019 Jerome Hill Artist Fellow and a recipient of the NYSCA / Wave Farm Media Arts Assistance Fund in 2018. His work has been featured in publications including the South China Morning Post, MUBI, Nang Magazine, Millennium Film Journal, and DesistFilm. He is an Adjunct Instructor at the Cooper Union School of Art and a member Negativeland, an artist-run film lab in Brooklyn. He has given lectures and performed as a visiting artist at institutions such as the China Central Academy of Fine Arts, Yale University and the Beijing Film Academy. Liu is currently in post-production on his first feature film, Staffordshire Hoard.

Paul Kandel

Paul Kandel (born February 15, 1951 in Queens, New York, USA) is an American musical theatre actor and tenor singer best known for his only film role in Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996) as the voice of Clopin. He also has appeared on Broadway a number of times, having appeared in Jesus Christ Superstar as King Herod, Titanic, The Who's Tommy, and The Visit. Kandel received a nomination for the 1993 Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical for his portrayal of Uncle Ernie in The Who's Tommy.

Andrew Levitas

Biography

Levitas' feature film directorial debut Lullaby, from his own screenplay, stars Amy Adams, Richard Jenkins, Terrence Howard, Jennifer Hudson, and Garrett Hedlund. The film, an exploration of patients' rights, was described by Pete Hammond (Deadline) as a "strong human drama" with "Jenkins a true actor's actor, delivering a very Oscar-worthy supporting turn." Levitas' latest directing project Minamata follows photojournalist W. Eugene Smith who takes on a secret commission by Life magazine and travels to the Japanese coastal town of Minamata to expose corporate negligence and government cover-ups by documenting one of the world's most horrifying environmental disasters. Levitas has also produced The White Crow (Ralph Fiennes, Adele Exarchopoulos), My Zoe (Julie Delpy, Daniel Brühl, Gemma Arterton), Georgetown (Vanessa Redgrave, Annette Bening), Farming (Kate Beckinsale, Gugu Mbatha-Raw), The Gateway (Bruce Dern, Olivia Munn, Frank Grillo), and The Quarry (Michael Shannon) among others. Sofia Boutella

Biography

Sofia Boutella (born April 3, 1982) is an Algerian dancer, model, and actress. She is known mainly for her hip-hop and street dance, and for appearing in Nike Women's advertising campaigns. Boutella has starred as Gazelle in Kingsman: The Secret Service (2015), an alien warrior named Jaylah in Star Trek Beyond (2016), and the main antagonist, Princess Ahmanet, in Universal's Dark Universe film The Mummy. Also in 2017, she starred alongside Charlize Theron in Atomic Blonde, the film adaptation of the graphic novel The Coldest City, as undercover French agent Delphine Lasalle. Sofia Boutella was born in the Bab El Oued district of Algiers, Algeria, to an architect mother and a jazz musician father, Safy Boutella. Her brother, Seif, works as a visual effects artist in the entertainment industry. Her surname means 'the men of the mountains'. She was raised in a fairly secular household that cultivated artistic expression and creativity. In 1992, at the age of 10, she left Algeria with her family in the midst of the Algerian Civil War and moved to France. Shortly thereafter, she started rhythmic gymnastics, joining the French national team at age 18.
