Juliette Lewis

Biography

Juliette Lake Lewis (born June 21, 1973) is an American actress and singer. She is known for her portrayals of offbeat characters, often in films with dark themes. Lewis became an "it girl" of American cinema in the early 1990s, appearing in various independent and arthouse films. Her accolades include a Pasinetti Award, one Academy Award nomination, one Golden Globe nomination, and a Primetime Emmy Award nomination. The daughter of character actor Geoffrey Lewis, Lewis began her career in television at age 14 before being cast in her first major film role as Audrey Griswold in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989). She garnered international notice for her role in Martin Scorsese's remake of Cape Fear (1991), which saw Lewis nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, as well as the Golden Globe in the same category. Following the success of Cape Fear, Lewis had a supporting role in Woody Allen's Husbands and Wives (1992), followed by the thriller Kalifornia (1993) in which she portrayed a childlike woman whose boyfriend is a serial killer. She appeared in the drama What's Eating Gilbert Grape (also 1993), playing a young drifter. Lewis gained further notice for her lead role as Mallory Knox in Oliver Stone's controversial satirical crime film Natural Born Killers (1994), which earned her the Pasinetti Award for Best Actress at the Venice Film Festival. She subsequently starred in Kathryn Bigelow's science fiction film Strange Days (1995), and Robert Rodriguez's vampire film From Dusk Till Dawn (1996). In 1999, Lewis had a leading role in the drama The Other Sister as a woman with mental disabilities. The 2000s saw Lewis appearing in a series of supporting roles in independent features and studio films, and in 2003 she earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress for her role in Hysterical Blindness (2002). She went on to appear in supporting parts in such comedies as Old School (2003) and Starsky & Hutch (2004), and embarked on a musical career in 2003, forming the rock band Juliette and the Licks; in 2009, Lewis began releasing material as a solo artist. Subsequent film roles include the sports comedy Whip It (2009), the biographical crime film Conviction (2010), an American romantic comedy The Switch (2010) and the drama August: Osage County (2013). Starting in the later 2010s, Lewis worked more frequently in television, appearing in lead roles on the series The Firm (2012), Wayward Pines (2015), Secrets and Lies (2015–2016), The Act (2019), and Yellowjackets (2021).

Amit May Cohen (she/her) is a Los Angeles based composer for film and TV, best known for Disney Channel's ZOMBIES 2 which she co-composed with George S. Clinton (Austin Powers, The Santa Clause). She has worked as an additional composer and/or orchestrator on projects including Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw (2019), Valley Girl (2018), SWAT (2017-2020), The Sinner (2018-2020), and the Australian Academy Award nominated documentary In My Blood It Runs (2019). Her score for the short film Wrestling Za'atari (2016) earned her Best Score nominations in both the Milan and London International Filmmaker Festivals. She was chosen to participate in the prestigious Sundance Music and Sound Design Lab in 2018 at Skywalker Ranch, and was awarded the ASCAP Emerging Film Composer Award In 2015.

Dolores Camarillo

Biography

Dolores Sepulveda Camarillo (March 31, 1910 – February 8, 1988) was a Mexican character actress of film, television, and theater. She also was a makeup artist for films, and was frequently billed as "Fraustita". The daughter of actors, Camarillo was a makeup artist for films in the 1930s. She was also a makeup teacher in the Andrés Soler Institute. She was married to fellow film actor Antonio R. Frausto, to whom she owed her professional nickname of "Fraustita", or meaning "little woman Frausto" Camarillo debuted as an actress in 1915 in the theatrical play, La cara de Dios (The Face of God). She appeared in 124 films from 1933 to 1986. One of her most prominent roles in her film career is that of "Paz" in the popular 1940 Cantinflas film Ahí está el detalle. In the film, she received the sixth billing, after her other co-stars. She also appeared in supporting roles with actor Joaquín Pardavé in the Lebanese character comedies El baisano Jalil (1942) and El barchante Neguib (1946).

Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 – October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer who won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery was polled in a 2004 The Sunday Herald as "The Greatest Living Scot" and in a 2011 EuroMillions survey as "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure". He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. Chen Wo-Fu

Biography

Originating from Kaiping, Guangdong, Chen grew up in Hong Kong, where he trained in Tai Chi. As a middle-weight boxer, he was once famous for challenging a heavyweight in a Southeast Asia teenage martial arts contest in 1971. He joined Shaw Brothers the following year as an actor and debuted in "All Men Are Brothers", co-directed by Chang Cheh and Wu Ma. It was followed by "Friends", "Two Faces of Love", "The Bloody Escape" and "The Shadow Boxer", which was to be marked as Chen's final act as tragically, he commited suicide by gas poisoning in 1974, before the film was released. Chen was only 24 when he died.

Elizabeth Oropesa

Born July, 17 1954 under the name Elizabeth Oropesa Freeman in Albay, Philippines. In 1972, her mother falsified registration documents claiming she was the minimum age of 18 so she could join the Miss RP pageant. After winning the Miss RP Luzon title, her real age was discovered and she was dethroned just hours later. Using this notoriety as a stepping stone, she made her film debut in 1973's Daredevil Rider and has been a busy and acclaimed actress in the Philippines ever since. Just a few years into her acting career she'd be launched to stardom with the films Mister Mo, Lover Boy Ko and Lumapit, Lumayo Ang Umaga (both 1975). The latter netted her the FAMAS Best Actress award, an award she'd win again in 2000 for Bulaklak ng Maynila. She has received five nominations in total to date. In addition, she's won acting awards from Young Critics Circle, Star, FAP, Gawad Urian Awards and others. Despite the acclaim as one of her country's finest veteran actresses, Elizabeth took a long hiatus from acting and traveled to Indonesia to become a Master of Tetada Kalimasadam; a type of healing using martial arts, breathing and full concentration. She studied at the International Open University for Complementary Medicine in Sri Lanka and graduated with a Doctorate of Philosophy in Alternative Medicine. Though she returned to acting and continues to appear in films and on TV to this day, she also has a clinic in Quezon City specializing in psychic healing and alternative medicine and uses the professional name Dr. Elizabeth Freeman. In her personal life, Elizabeth married at the age of 16 only to find herself widowed with a young daughter at 23. She later married martial arts actor Meng-Fei, though the relationship didn't last. Her current husband is bodybuilder and physical therapist Joe Valdez.

Alissa ‘Ali’ Skovbye was born in Vancouver, Canada. She comes from a Scandinavian background and most of her extended family resides in Sweden and Denmark. Although she did not initially take to acting like her older sister Tiera, she did eventually become curious around the age of four. Joana Linda, born 1980 in Lisbon, Portugal, attended Communication and Cultural Sciences course at Universidade Lusófona (Lisbon), where she graduated in Cultural and Art Management. In 2001 she started to develop an auto-biographical work in photography, that expanded to video in 2008 with the project "The Seven Sisters", a set of videos exploring the idea of alterity. She trained in acting, and took a part as a school girl in the BBC's production of The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. She starred in Bill Forsyth's 1981 film Gregory's Girl, playing John Gordon Sinclair's love interest Dorothy. After this role she moved into television in the Glasgow set series Maggie, presenting It's a Knockout, and taking a role for three years in the British soap opera Crossroads. Hepburn made a brief comeback with a role in the film The Bruce, alongside Oliver Reed.
