Although the film follows the comic's first volume events, some small changes that the author made to the script did not go to the film's benefit. One big problem of The Old Guard is visual weakness. The original comic featured modern art and stunning coloring. The Old Guard is far from the original story of immortal warriors tired of life, telling the love story of two former enemies that have passed through the centuries. Charlize Theron is what it is worth watching this film for; her acting is impeccable.
