Philippe Gildas

Biography

Philippe Gildas (born Philippe Lepêtre; 12 November 1935 – 28 October 2018) was a French journalist. Beginning his career in 1962, Gildas became the director of information for an RTL radio station. Born as Philippe Lepêtre, he took the name Gildas as a pseudonym over the radio. In 1969, Gildas turned to French Public Radio and Television (ORTF). In 1972, he became editor in chief of ORTF, although it was dissolved in 1974. He was editor in chief at France Inter from 1973 to 1974, and then worked at Europe 1 from 1975 to 1986 as editor in chief and deputy director of information. Gildas began working for Canal+ in 1985 as a director, and launched his own talk show, Gildas Direct. He left the show in 1987 to direct Nulle part ailleurs, and Philippe Risoli took over as director of the talk show. Nulle part ailleurs was a comedic talk show that took serious issues and put a humorous spin on them. Gildas won a 7 d'or award for the show in 1994 and 1997. In 2001, Gildas was promoted to president of CNews after a deal with Canal+. In 2007, he launched Vivolta, a television network aimed at Baby boomers. In 2010, Gildas published an autobiography titled Comment réussir à la télévision quand on est petit, breton, avec de grandes oreilles?. In 2018, Gildas made his final television appearance in the TV documentary La Télé des années 80: les Dix Ans qui ont tout changé, aired on France Télévisions. Philippe Gildas died on 28 October 2018 following a battle with cancer. He was buried on 5 November 2018 at the Père Lachaise Cemetery. John Paragon

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. John Dixon Paragon (born 9 December 1954) is an American actor, writer, and director. He was born in Anchorage, Alaska, on an Army base. He grew up and attended schools in Fort Collins, Colorado. Paragon is probably best known for his work on children's show Pee-wee's Playhouse where he played Jambi the Genie and voiced Pterri the Pterodactyl. In addition to writing many of the regular season episodes of Playhouse, Paragon also co-wrote (with Paul Reubens) the acclaimed Pee-wee's Playhouse Christmas Special in 1988, for which they were nominated an Emmy Award for Best Writing in a Children's Special. Some of Paragon's other memorable roles include Cedric, one half of the gay couple Bob and Cedric on the television series Seinfeld; the title character in the children's movie The Frog Prince; the sex shop salesman in the cult favorite Eating Raoul; and the owner of a Strip-o-gram business in the 1986 film Echo Park. Paragon got his start in the Los Angeles-based improvisation group The Groundlings alongside Reubens and Phil Hartman. He also collaborated with fellow Groundling Cassandra Peterson on numerous Elvira projects, including the recurring role of The Breather, an annoying caller, for her first television series on KHJ-TV-Los Angeles. In recent years, Paragon has worked with Walt Disney Imagineering on ways to incorporate improvisational performance into attractions at Disney parks. In this capacity, he performed as the keeper of Lucky the Dinosaur during the test runs of the animatronic figure. Paragon returned to his performance as Jambi the Genie in the Broadway outing of the new Pee-wee Herman stage show that began performances 26 October 2010 at the Stephen Sondheim Theater. Sean Connery

Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 – October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer who won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery was polled in a 2004 The Sunday Herald as "The Greatest Living Scot" and in a 2011 EuroMillions survey as "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure". He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. Height     5' 3" (1,6 m) Rebecca Sara "Becki" Newton (born July 4, 1978) is an American actress best known for her roles as Amanda Tanen on the television series Ugly Betty and Quinn on How I Met Your Mother. Born in New Haven, Connecticut, Becki Newton was raised in Guilford, Connecticut. She is of English and Czech descent and began performing musicals and plays at local theaters, and studied at the University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated with a B.A. in European History. At Penn, Newton was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. After graduation, Newton then moved to New York City and landed several roles in television commercials for such companies as the Olive Garden. Newton portrayed the character Amanda Tanen in the comedy-drama series Ugly Betty from 2006 to 2010. With co-star Michael Urie, Newton co-hosted the Official Ugly Betty Podcast. She also appeared in ABC.com's Mode After Hours webisode series. Ugly Betty was canceled in 2010 after four successful seasons allowing the show to receive a proper series finale. In late 2009, Newton performed at a New York City Center Encores! presentation of the Gershwin musical Girl Crazy, which was directed by Jerry Zaks. She portrayed Molly Gray and performed opposite real-life husband Chris Diamantopoulos. Newton starred in the television series Love Bites. The hour-long romantic comedy was created by executive producer Cindy Chupack, who worked on Sex and the City. NBC announced the pick up of the series in May 2010.However, with Newton announcing her pregnancy, co-star Jordana Spiro contractually obligated to stay with her other show My Boys (which was later cancelled) and Chupack's desire to leave the show, Love Bites was pushed back to midseason. Love Bites aired in summer 2011 on NBC and was cancelled after eight episodes. In November 2011, Newton was cast on CBS's How I Met Your Mother as Quinn, a love interest for Neil Patrick Harris's character Barney Stinson. She currently stars in the Fox mid-season TV series The Goodwin Games. Newton met her husband, Chris Diamantopoulos, in a subway station in New York, and they married on 12 May 2005. It was announced on July 1, 2010 that Newton and Diamantopolous were expecting their first child. She gave birth to a son in early Nov 2010. Her older brother, Matt Newton, is also an actor. He guest starred as the boyfriend of Ugly Betty character Marc St. James. Her mother, Jennifer, is an award-winning artist, and her aunt, Stephanie Chase is a classical violinist.

Leila Farzad

Leila Effat Farzad (Arabic: ليلى عفت Persian: لیلا عفت فرزاد; born December 30, 1981) is a British actress. She is known for her role as Naomi Jones in the Sky Atlantic series I Hate Suzie (2020–2022), which earned her a British Academy Television Award nomination. Farzad was born in London to Iranian parents. She was inspired to pursue acting by National Theatre productions her aunt took her to see, however, her parents requested she get a degree from Oxbridge first. She first studied Modern Languages at Worcester College, Oxford, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in French and Italian Literature. She then went on to train at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, which she said "felt like home". Farzad began her career with a voice role in the third and fourth series of the Channel 5 animated children's series Peppa Pig. She made her live action television debut in an episode of the ITV police procedural Law & Order: UK and her professional stage debut as the titular role in Miriam. Gonzalez. Durantez. at Theatre503. This was followed by roles in Blue Remembered Hills at Chichester Festival Theatre, the all female Julius Caesar at the Bridge Theatre in London, Richard II at Shakespeare's Globe. She also appeared in the ITV anthology Innocent. Farzad landed her first main role was I Hate Suzie as Naomi Jones, Suzie's (Billie Piper) manager and friend. Peter Hanlon’s career as a professional actor spans over three and a half decades. He began his career in 1969 by appearing in guests spots on The Rovers, Division 4, Catwalk and Homicide. Hanlon soon began to garnish an impressive resume.  He gained international recognition by portraying the iconic suicidal teacher in the top grossing film of 2000, Scary Movie. Cassandra Magrath is an Australian actress. She played Miranda Gibson in the Australian ABC 1998–2000 television series SeaChange and Liz Hunter in the 2005 Australian horror film Wolf Creek. Magrath began her acting career aged 11, with a role in the children's television programme Ocean Girl. She also played Charlene in the Australian ABC children's television series The Wayne Manifesto that aired in 1996. Magrath also acted as Alison Pi Renfrey in The Crash Zone in 1998. She also appears in The Butterfly Effect video 'Gone', as well as comedy trio Tripod's 'Xbox Song'. Magrath stars in the Michael Adante thriller Vanished in which she portrayed Winona Grant.
