Sean Connery

Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 – October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer who won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery was polled in a 2004 The Sunday Herald as "The Greatest Living Scot" and in a 2011 EuroMillions survey as "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure". He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. She has appeared in numerous stage plays and musicals, feature films, and many television programs. She is known for her performance of "The Ladies Who Lunch" in Stephen Sondheim's 1970 musical Company, her 2001 one-woman show Elaine Stritch at Liberty, and recently for her role as Jack Donaghy's mother Colleen on NBC's 30 Rock. She has been nominated for the Tony Award four times in various categories, and won for Elaine Stritch at Liberty.

Catharina Dahlin

Biography

Swedish actress, born in Sundsvall on July 31, 1944. She always dreamed of being an actress and after landing a small role in an Italian film, she ended up living and working in Italy, playing uncredited roles in many films during the 1970s and 80s. For many years, she lived with a director named Roberto Carnicci, who was friends with Fellini, and Catharina was able to get small roles in four of Fellini's films: Satyricon (1969), Roma (1972), Amarcord (1973) and La città delle donne (1980). Amidst her many small roles, she also had quite a few speaking parts, such as in Delitto sull'autostrada (1982), where she's jokingly seduced by Tomas Milian who asks her: «Do you have a license for these pair of eyes?». Catharina moved back to Sweden in 1983 and began to work with astrology. She also studied to be a healer and has continued her acting career by appearing in some films by Swedish director Lars Mohlin.

Ken Osborne

Kent Osborne has been in show business since early youth, beginning as a song and dance kid in theatre stage circuits. In his early teens he entered "The American Academy of Theatre Arts" as an actor/director in New York City. At sixteen, he was signed to a 7-year actor contract with "Twentieth Century Fox Studios." While under contract he owned and operated his own Playhouse Theatre, directing, acting and producing plays. At nineteen he wrote, directed and produced his first film - "It Could Happen to You." He wrote and directed the television shows "Meet Milie" and "Tales of Turf and Live by a Star." Osborne was also instrumental in starting the Board of N.A.B.I.T. and the Independent Screen Producers Association, in which he was voted the First official President. In his fifty-four theatrical years, Mr. Osborne has written several novels, many plays and more than 90 screenplays - 40 were sold to other Producers and companies. He has produced and directed more than 26 of his own screenplays into major motion pictures. Lena Horne

Biography

Lena Horne (June 30, 1917 - May 9, 2010) was a singer, dancer, actress, and civil rights activist. Horne joined the chorus of the Cotton Club at the age of sixteen and became a nightclub performer before moving to Hollywood, where she had small parts in numerous movies, and more substantial parts in the films Cabin in the Sky and Stormy Weather. Due to the Red Scare and her left-leaning political views, Horne found herself blacklisted and unable to get work in Hollywood. Returning to her roots as a nightclub performer, Horne took part in the March on Washington in August 1963, and continued to work as a performer, both in nightclubs and on television, while releasing well-received record albums. She announced her retirement in March 1980, but the next year starred in a one-woman show, Lena Horne: The Lady and Her Music, which ran for more than three hundred performances on Broadway and earned her numerous awards and accolades. She continued recording and performing sporadically into the 1990s, disappearing from the public eye in 2000. Horne died on May 9, 2010 in New York City. During her lifetime, Horne was awarded four Grammys, a Tony, and a NAACP Image Award . She also received the Kennedy Center Honors in 1984.
