Louis Minnaar

Biography

Louis Minnaar is a South African actor best known for his television roles as Wynand de Kock in the SABC2 drama series Erfsondes and as Pieter Terre'Blanche in the SABC3 drama-turned-telenovela High Rollers. He studied for a National Diploma: Performing Arts at Pretoria Technikon from 1979 to 1982, whereupon he landed a one-year contract at the now-defunct performing arts council PACOFS, where he played a number of roles in repertory theatre in 1983. He worked as a translator at the SABC from 1988 to 2000, working as an actor and voice artist at the SABC. He has been a freelance actor, voice artist and scriptwriter since 2005. He played the role of Nick Dekker in the SABC2 mini-series Huis van Liefde in March 2008. Other television series he has acted in include Dryfsand, Amalia, Begeertes, Justice for All, 7de Laan, Binnelanders, Kruispad, Scandal!, 90 Plein Street, Pandjieswinkelstories and Bloedbroers. Louis has also acted in a number of feature films including District 9, Getroud Met Rugby, Winnie Mandela, Heart and Soul, Blitzpatrollie and Semi-Soet. In 2013 he landed the recurring role of Pieter Terre'Blanche, the head of security who is a recovering gambling addict. The role was upped to a series regular for Season 2 when the show changed from a weekly drama to a telenovela in 2015.

Sean Connery

Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 – October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer who won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery was polled in a 2004 The Sunday Herald as "The Greatest Living Scot" and in a 2011 EuroMillions survey as "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure". He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. William Henry "Will" Wright (March 26, 1894, San Francisco, California - June 19, 1962, Los Angeles, California) was an American character actor. He was frequently cast in westerns and in curmudgeonly roles. Over the course of his career, Wright appeared in more than 200 film and television roles. He started his acting career in vaudeville and later moved to the stage, then on to movies, radio, and television. Among the films in which Wright appeared are Shadow of the Thin Man (1941), The Major and the Minor (1943), So Proudly We Hail! (1943), Road to Utopia (1946), Mother Wore Tights (1947), Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House (1948), Little Women (1949), Walk Softly, Stranger (1950), Sunset in the West (1950), People Will Talk (1951), The Happy Time (1952), River of No Return (1954), The Man with the Golden Arm (1955), Jeanne Eagels (1957), and Gunman's Walk (1958). One of his most famous and memorable film roles was corrupt city official Dolph Pillsbury in the Academy Award-winning All the King's Men (1949). Wright provided the voice of Friend Owl in Walt Disney's animated film Bambi (1942). He guest starred on several television series. Will Wright died of cancer in 1962.

Manuela Ruiz Penella known as Emma Penella (Madrid, March 2, 1931 - Ibidem, August 27, 2007) was a Spanish film, theater and television actress. Daughter of the politician Ramón Ruiz Alonso and Magdalena Penella Silva, granddaughter of the composer Manuel Penella Moreno, great-granddaughter of the also musician Manuel Penella Raga, sister of the also actresses Elisa Montés (1934) and Terele Pávez (1939-2017). She married film producer Emiliano Piedra with whom she had three daughters: Emma, Lola and Emiliana. She was also the aunt of the actress Emma Ozores (daughter of her sister Elisa Montés and the actor Antonio Ozores). Actress of marked personality and prestige since the 1950s, she triumphed in cinema thanks to films such as Luis García Berlanga's El verdugo (The Executioner) and maintained intense theatrical activity. She renewed her popularity in her later years participating in the television series Aquí no hay quien viva (2003-2006) and La que se avecina (2007).

Colin Trevorrow

Colin T. Trevorrow (US: /trəˈvɑːroʊ/; born September 13, 1976) is an American film director and screenwriter. He directed the indie film Safety Not Guaranteed (2012) and the blockbuster film Jurassic World (2015), and also co-wrote the script to Jurassic World and its 2018 sequel. Trevorrow was born on September 13, 1976 in San Francisco, California. He was raised in Oakland, California. His father was a musician in a country rock band and his mother was a photographer who also operated a day-care center. He is Jewish on his mother's side. As a boy, he sang in the chorus of the San Francisco Opera. As a teenager, Trevorrow won awards from the Mill Valley Film Festival and the San Francisco Youth Film Festival. Trevorrow graduated from Piedmont High School in Piedmont, California, and later graduated from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in 1999. In 2002, he wrote and directed his first short film, Home Base; as of 2012, it had received over 20 million hits online. Trevorrow's first theatrical release was with Reality Show, a 2004 documentary film about the failed production of a reality television show. Trevorrow sold his first spec script titled Tester to DreamWorks in 2006. In 2008, he paired up with Derek Connolly, ten years after they had first met as NYU students while working as interns on Saturday Night Live, to write a buddy cop film script called Cocked and Loaded. Trevorrow said that the experience was so enjoyable that he decided to give up solo screenwriting and work with Connolly. In 2012, Trevorrow directed Safety Not Guaranteed, a film inspired by a classified advertisement which ran in a 1997 issue of Backwoods Home Magazine that read: "Somebody to go back in time with me. This is not a joke. P.O. Box 322, Oakview, CA 93022. You'll get paid after we get back. Must bring your own weapons. Safety not guaranteed. I have only done this once before." The script was by Connolly, who intended for Trevorrow to direct it. The film received various accolades, including a nomination for Trevorrow for the Independent Spirit Award for Best First Feature. The film was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance, where it picked up the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award. After the release of Safety Not Guaranteed, Trevorrow and Connolly were hired by the Walt Disney Company to write an as-yet unmade remake of the film Flight of the Navigator (1986). Trevorrow co-wrote and directed Jurassic World (2015), and also provided his voice for the film's character of Mr. DNA. Connolly and Trevorrow also co-wrote the screenplay for its sequel, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, which was released in June 2018 and for which Trevorrow is an executive producer. After Jurassic World, Trevorrow next directed The Book of Henry, which was written by Gregg Hurwitz. The film was released by Focus Features on June 16, 2017 to generally negative reviews, although Trevorrow stood by the film. On March 30, 2018 it was announced that Trevorrow would be returning to the Jurassic Park franchise to direct Jurassic World 3 (2021). Carl Marino (born August 26, 1970) is an actor, model and former Sheriff's Deputy. Carl attended the United States Military Academy at West Point for 2 years. Following West Point, and while studying Criminal Justice at the Rochester Institute of Technology, Carl became a Deputy Sheriff in New York and served on the force for almost 17 years. He also signed with a modeling company in NY and worked on print and commercial projects. After almost 17 years of service. and the passing of both of his parents, Carl moved to California to be closer to some of his family that had moved there years before. While in California, he signed with a modeling agency. Soon after his arrival, he auditioned for a feature film, got the part, and made his big screen debut in the independent film Sedona's Rule (2010). Almost immediately after this, he was cast in the NBC show Trauma (2009) that was filming in San Francisco, and became a recurring guest star. Since then, Carl has worked on, and been featured in, numerous feature films, network and cable television shows, and national commercials. He is well-known for portraying the lead Detective, Lt. Joe Kenda, on the Investigation Discovery hit TV show Homicide Hunter (2011) for 7 seasons.

Santosh Babusenan is a PhD in Film Studies. Since the early 90s he has been working as a director of photography, writer and producer. He has worked extensively in the music industry for MTV and the STAR network. He is Managing Partner in Fifth Element, a production house in India. His 1997 short film 'Twilight Dream', co-directed with his brother Satish Babusenan (aka The Babusenan Brothers) was selected to the Mumbai International Film Festival and the Split Film Festival, Croatia. Chaayam Poosiya Veedu is the first feature by the Babusenan Brothers. Here is what the brothers, who work on their films together, have to say about what inspires them to make films: "Although film as art has changed drastically over the years, its fundamental concerns have remained rather unchanged. War, poverty, internal and external conflicts, love, disease, death. In our films we try to grapple with some of the existential and ethical issues that we think are central to human life.
