Sean Connery

Biography

Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 – October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer who won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery was polled in a 2004 The Sunday Herald as "The Greatest Living Scot" and in a 2011 EuroMillions survey as "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure". He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. Santiago Segura

Biography

Born in Madrid, Santiago Segura started his career by making his first short movie at the age of fourteen. After studying Arts in Madrid, he finally decided to become a filmmaker. His first short film Relatos de la medianoche (1989) was made with a budget of only 7.000 pts. (about 60 dollars). After that, he appeared as a contestant in several Spanish TV quiz shows, such as  Locos por la tele (1990) and No te rías, que es peor (1990). With the money he made of those appareances, he directed Evilio. (1992) and shortly after, Perturbado (1993), winning a Goya for the best short film in 1994. His last short film is the sequel Evilio vuelve (El purificador) (1994). He's a very good friend of the Spanish director  Álex de la Iglesia and he has appeared in all of his films. In 1998, he directed his firt feature film, the smashing hit Torrente, el brazo tonto de la ley (1998).

Asha Banks

Biography

Asha Banks is a young British actress and singer based in London. Asha has extensive theatre credits, and has a lead part in her first feature film, The Magic Flute, released in November 2022. The film is a modern retelling of Mozart's popular opera, produced by Roland Emmerich's Centropolis Entertainment and Flute Film, and directed by Florian Sigl. Asha plays the female lead part of Princess Pamina. The movie also stars Iwan Rheon and Jack Wolfe and some of the world's most renowned opera stars. Asha recently played the part of Thea in London's 2021/22 critically acclaimed Olivier-nominated production of Spring Awakening at the Almeida Theatre directed by Rupert Goold. She was also the understudy for the lead role of Wendla and performed as Wendla a number of times. Asha made her professional acting debut at the age of 8 years old in the London West End show Les Miserables (at the Queen's Theatre, now the Sondheim Theatre). Since then she has played principal parts in a further six West End and UK productions. Asha worked for the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) in 2019/20, when she portrayed the lead part of Lisa James in their musical production of David Walliams' The Boy in the Dress, at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon directed by Gregory Doran, with a book by Mark Ravenhill, and music from pop partnership Robbie Williams and Guy Chambers. Asha sings Lisa James' main musical ballad 'When Things Fall Apart" on the original cast album of the musical, released in 2020. Prior to this, Asha has played parts such as Violet Beauregarde in Charlie & The Chocolate Factory at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, Duffy in the UK tour of Annie the Musical directed by Nikolai Foster, and the Parsons Girl in the multi-award-winning and Olivier-nominated play 1984, directed by Robert Icke and Duncan Macmillan for the Almeida theatre, which then transferred to the Playhouse theatre, London, taking Asha with it. Asha also portrayed Pandora Braithwaite in The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, aged 13 ¾ at the Menier Chocolate Factory, London, for which she earned outstanding reviews. "Asha Banks gives a stellar performance" said The Times, and "Asha Banks on press night - very funny and a cracking singer, surely a future star" from London Timeout magazine while The Telegraph said she was "the perfect mix of poise, aloofness and vitality" and The Times called her performance "outstanding".

Chikage Awashima

Biography

Chikage Awashima (淡島 千景, Awashima Chikage, born Keiko Nakagawa, 24 February 1924 – 16 February 2012) was a Japanese film and stage actress. Her stage name drew inspiration from Japanese poetry, and her legacy continues to resonate within the world of entertainment. A graduate from Takarazuka Music and Dance School and member of the Takarazuka Revue, Chikage Awashima entered the Shochiku film studios and made her film debut in 1950. She appeared in films of numerous prominent directors like Yasujirō Ozu, Mikio Naruse, Keisuke Kinoshita, Tadashi Imai and Heinosuke Gosho. She received the Blue Ribbon Award twice and the Mainichi Film Award twice for her performances. Awashima retired from stage in 2009. She died on 16 February 2012, aged 87, from cancer.

Carrie Wong spent her early years as a model strutting the runways before she found her true calling – acting. After her remarkable performance in Channel U’s hit reality show Hey Gorgeous, she landed a role in Channel U’s rugby-themed drama, Scrum. In 2018, she attained her first Star Awards Best Actress nomination for her role in My Friends From Afar and 2019, she scored yet another nomination for her applauding role in VIC. 2020, In A Quest to Heal (a Mediacorp blockbuster whereby the entire production went to film in China, Hengdian); she plays the female lead Luo Mingyi, a woman who time-travelled from the Ming Dynasty to present day Singapore.

Brandon James Routh (born October 9, 1979) is an American actor and former fashion model. He grew up in Iowa before moving to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career, and subsequently appeared on multiple television series throughout the early 2000s. In 2006, he gained greater recognition for his role as the titular superhero of the 2006 film Superman Returns. He also had a recurring role in the TV series Chuck, as Daniel Shaw. Dylan Michael Patton was born in Texas on July 13th, 1992. Dylan began his acting career at the age of 7 and his natural character appeal in front of the camera helped him to book various commercials both regional and national. In the spring of 2002, Dylan's agent received a call from a producer who was casting a television pilot in Nashville Tennessee. After only a few callbacks, Dylan landed the lead role of Dakota Manning in "Our Family". Dylan spent the next year auditioning and booking more regional and national commercial spots for such companies as "Subaru" and "Hasbro." The following spring in 2003, Dylan auditioned for an independent film called Sheeba (2005). The film was starring Edward Asner and Judge Reinhold. The producer was looking for an 11-year-old boy to play the film's leading character, Clay Thomas. Dylan landed the role and shot the film during the entire summer of 2003. In Early 2009, he joined the cast of NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives, playing the role of Will Horton from February 27, 2009 to January 20, 2010.

Hilarie Ros Burton (born July 1, 1982) is an American actress, businesswoman, author and producer. A former host of MTV's Total Request Live, she is best known for her portrayal of Peyton Sawyer on One Tree Hill. Hilarie was born and raised in Sterling Park, Virginia. She is the oldest of four children and describes her family as tight-knit. Burton won a recurring arc in the USA Network crime drama series White Collar in 2010 as Sara Ellis, an insurance investigator. She also appeared as the DEA agent love interest of main character Martin Riggs on Lethal Weapon from the first season in 2016 through the third episode of the second season in 2017. Harold Goodwin

Biography

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Harold Goodwin (December 1, 1902 – July 12, 1987) was an American film actor who performed in over 225 films. Born in Peoria, Illinois, Goodwin began his film career while still in his teens in the 1915 film short Mike's Elopement. One of his most popular roles of the silent era was that of Ted Brown in the 1927 Buster Keaton comedy College. Goodwin followed up with a role in another Keaton film The Cameraman in 1928 opposite Keaton and actress Marceline Day. He worked steadily through the silent film era and transitioned into the talkie era as a popular character actor. One of his most notable roles of the era was that of Detering in the 1930 Lewis Milestone directed World War I drama All Quiet on the Western Front. In his later years, Goodwin mainly acted in the Western film genre and often worked as a stuntmen for film studios. In the 1960s, Goodwin made many guest appearances of the NBC television series Daniel Boone starring Fess Parker and Ed Ames. Goodwin made his last film appearance in the low-budget horror film The Boy Who Cried Werewolf before retiring from the film industry. He died in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA in 1987 after being shot for adultery.
