Khaled El Sawy

Biography

Khaled El Sawy is an Egyptian actor. He was born in Alexandria in 1963. He studied law at Cairo University, and started acting while at college on the university's theater, and after graduating in 1985, he studied directing at the Academy of Arts till 1993. El Sawy then started working as an assistant director on the film “Samaka we Arbaa' Oroush” (A Fish and Four Sharks), then as a director for several of the Nile International network's satellite channels. El Sawy co-founded the Egyptian Foundation for Theater Enthusiasts. He wrote the plays “Haflet Maganin” (Crazy Party) and “Operette El Darfil” (The Dolphin Operette), for which he won the Taymour Award for Theatrical Ingenuity in 1991 and 1992 respectively. El Sawy's career includes a variety of distinct roles on film, including “Emaret Yacoubian” (Yacoubian Building), “Keda Reda”, “Cabaret”, “El Farah” (The Wedding) and “El Feel El Azraq” (The Blue Elephant). He also starred as a lead in television series like “Tofahet Adam” (Adam's Apple) and “Khatem Suleiman” (Suleiman's Ring).

Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 – October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer who won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. Eileen Brennan

Eileen Brennan (September 3, 1932 – July 28, 2013) was an American actress who was known for her versatile performances in film, television, and theater. She was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Captain Doreen Lewis in the 1980 comedy film Private Benjamin. She also won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as Mrs. Hughes in the television series Newhart. Brennan was born in Los Angeles, California, and began her acting career in the theater. She made her Broadway debut in 1963 in the musical Little Mary Sunshine. She went on to appear in several other Broadway musicals, including Hello, Dolly! and Annie. Brennan made her film debut in the 1967 satire Divorce American Style. She followed this with supporting roles in the films The Last Picture Show (1971), The Cheap Detective (1978), and The First Wives Club (1996). She also starred in the films Clue (1985) and Sister Act (1992). In addition to her film and theater work, Brennan also had a successful television career. She appeared in numerous television shows, including The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Bob Newhart Show, Cheers, and Will & Grace. She died on July 28, 2013, at the age of 80, from complications of multiple myeloma. Multiple myeloma is a type of cancer that affects plasma cells, a type of white blood cell that helps the body fight infection. Brennan was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2001. She underwent treatment, including chemotherapy and radiation therapy. She continued to work and act throughout her treatment, and she even appeared in the 2011 film The Big Year. In 2013, Brennan's health began to decline. She died on July 28, 2013, at her home in Los Angeles. She was survived by her husband, David John Lampson, and her daughter, Emily.

Danny Joseph Bakewell (born 1946) is an American civil rights activist and entrepreneur. He is the owner of The Bakewell Company, which includes among its holdings the New Orleans radio station WBOK and the Los Angeles Sentinel newspaper. He is currently Chairman of the National Newspaper Publishers Association. Bakewell was born and raised in New Orleans, graduating from St. Augustine High School. Bakewell is the co-founder of the National Black United Fund. He also served as President of The Brotherhood Crusade, a civil rights advocate organization, for over thirty years, before stepping down to focus on his other projects. In recent years, Bakewell has been focused on expanding and diversifying his firm The Bakewell Company, which is the largest minority-owned development firm on the West Coast. He purchased the Los Angeles Sentinel, the city's oldest and largest Black newspaper, in 2004. Soon after, in 2007, he purchased the New Orleans radio station WBOK.
