Walid Afkir

Biography

Walid Afkir born September 2, 1982 in Montreuil, Seine-Saint-Denis is a Franco-Moroccan actor and screenwriter. His father, Brahim Foudili, arrived in France in the 1960s. Very involved in the FLN, he owned and managed a hotel in Montreuil where he welcomed the newly arrived Algerian diaspora. His mother, Fattouma Afkir, meanwhile, from a family from the city of Ouarzazate was born in Mohammedia in Morocco, she arrived in France in August 1963 at the age of 17. She does odd jobs as a nanny, a cleaning lady or even an usher at the Kinopanorama cinema in the 15th arrondissement of Paris. His talents as a cook allow him to work with great celebrities of French fashion and cinema such as designer Hilton McConnico, decorator Carlos Conti or even the director of Pédale Douce Gabriel Aghion. She ended her career as sous-chef at the Concorde Lafayette Hotel where she retired in 2006. Walid Afkir is the youngest of a family made up of two brothers and a sister. He grew up in the Boissière district of Montreuil where he spent his childhood there. At the age of 15, after the death of his father, he decides to stop his schooling and enters the world of work by becoming a pizza delivery boy. At 17, he was spotted during a wild casting by Elsa Pharaon for a feature film project. Very quickly his profile seduces other professionals like Kris de Bellair, casting director who will offer him his first role in "Unknown Code" by Michael Haneke. Film in which Walid performs a scene alongside Juliette Binoche. This sequence shot even becomes the trailer for the film presented in the Official Selection of the 2000 Cannes Film Festival; this is moreover what reveals it to the general public. He will be nominated for the César in 2006 in the Best Male Newcomer category, for the film "Hidden" by Michael Haneke.

Actor, screenwriter, director. People's Artist of the Georgian SSR (1982). People's Artist of the Abkhaz ASSR (1983). Graduated from the directing department of the Tbilisi Theater Institute named after Sh. Rustaveli (1967). From the age of 17 he worked at the Academic Theater named after K. Marjanishvili, was a stage worker, director and actor of this theater. Since 1962 - actor and director (since 1967) of the Academic Theater named after Sh. Rustaveli, returned to this theater in 1973. In 1969-1972 he was the chief director of the Batumi Theater named after I. Chavchavadze. Since 1974 she has been a teacher at the Acting Department of the Georgian Theater Institute named after Sh. Rustaveli. In 1976-1982 he was the director of the Kutaisi Art Theater named after L. Meskhishvili. Since 1982 - artistic director and director of the Sukhumi Drama Theater named after K. Gamsakhurdia.

Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 – October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer who won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery was polled in a 2004 The Sunday Herald as "The Greatest Living Scot" and in a 2011 EuroMillions survey as "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure". He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. Machiko Kyō

Machiko Kyō (Japanese: 京 マチ子 Hepburn: Kyō Machiko, March 25, 1924 – May 12, 2019) was a Japanese actress whose film work occurred primarily during the 1950s. She rose to extraordinary domestic praise in Japan for her work in two of the greatest Japanese films of the 20th century, Akira Kurosawa's Rashōmon and Kenji Mizoguchi's Ugetsu. Machiko trained to be a dancer before entering films in 1949. The following year, she would achieve international fame as the female lead in Akira Kurosawa's classic film Rashōmon. Kyō starred in many more Japanese productions, including Kenji Mizoguchi's Ugetsu (1953) and Street of Shame (1956), Teinosuke Kinugasa's Gate of Hell (1953), Kon Ichikawa's Odd Obsession (1959), Yasujirō Ozu's Floating Weeds (1959), and Hiroshi Teshigahara's The Face of Another (1966). Her only role in a non-Japanese film was as Lotus Blossom, a young geisha, in The Teahouse of the August Moon, starring opposite Marlon Brando and Glenn Ford. In her eighties, Kyō continued to perform in traditional Japanese theatrical productions put on by famed producer Fukuko Ishii. Her final role was as Matsuura Shino in the NHK television drama series Haregi Koko Ichiban in 2000. Kyō was nominated for a Golden Globe for The Teahouse of the August Moon, a great feat for an Asian actress at the time, and was awarded many prizes, including a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Awards of the Japanese Academy. Patty Brard

Patty Brard (born Petula Louise Brard on March 25, 1955, in Sorong, New Guinea) is a Dutch entertainer and entrepreneur of Indo (Dutch-Indonesian) descent. She is a TV personality and a singer notable as a former member of the girl group Luv'. For four decades, she has often hit the headlines of the tabloid press. In the late 1970s, Luv' scored a string of international hit records such as "You're the Greatest Lover", "Trojan Horse", "Casanova" and "Ooh, Yes I Do" on the charts. The group reunited on several occasions. Since 1983, Brard has been active on television as a host/presenter. She hosted the Candid Camera-like TV programs such as De Bananasplit Show and Gaan met die Banaan as well as the 1985 edition of the San Remo Festival and the 2001 version of Big Brother. Inspired by the success of The Osbournes, she appeared in reality television shows that featured her life, the most popular being Patty's Posse (2003–2004). Her participation in the ice skating competition Sterren Dansen Op Het IJs (2007) and the celebrity diving competition Sterren Springen Op Zaterdag (also known as Celebrity Splash!) were highly covered events. Since 2007, she has been a showbiz expert on the entertainment news program Shownieuws on SBS 6. Brard was also involved in other shows on the same channel including De Nieuwe Uri Geller ("The new Uri Geller"), Wie Ben Ik? In 1980, she left the group and took part in two comebacks with Luv' (in 1993–1996 and in 2005–2012). In 1981, Brard was the first Luv' member to start a solo career. She recorded in the 1980s three albums (All This Way, You're in the Pocket and Red Light) in Los Angeles. She collaborated with sought-after session musicians (including Billy Preston, Paulinho Da Costa, Paul Jackson, Jr. and Jai Winding). Vaibhavi Merchant is an Indian dance choreographer working in Bollywood films. She is best known for her choreographic work in numerous Bollywood films. She is the granddaughter of choreographer B. Hiralal, & the elder sister of Shruti Merchant. She began her career by assisting her uncle Chinni Prakash. She had her acting debut in the Malayalam film Snehapoorvam Anna. Her first solo work was the choreography for the song "Dhol Baaje" for the film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. She won a National Film Award for her work.[citation needed] She took a short break from the industry and then returned with the song "'O Ri Chhori'" in the 2001 film Lagaan. She then choreographed Kajra Re from Bunty Aur Babli (2005) that fetched her several awards. She continued to choreograph selected numbers in films such as Devdas, Baghban, Fida, Dhoom (As well as its two sequels), Veer Zaara, Aaja Nachle, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Aiyyaa. She was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress for the 1962 film Days of Wine and Roses, and for the 1966 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play for her Broadway theatre performance in Wait Until Dark. Remick made her film debut in 1957 in A Face in the Crowd. Her other notable film roles include Anatomy of a Murder (1959), Wild River (1960), The Detective (1968), The Omen (1976), and The Europeans (1979). She won Golden Globe Awards for the 1973 TV film The Blue Knight, and for playing the title role in the 1974 miniseries Jennie: Lady Randolph Churchill.
