Erin Moran

Biography

Moran's first acting role was at the age of five, in a television commercial for First Federal Bank. At the age of six, she was cast as Jenny Jones in the television series Daktari, which ran from 1966 to 1969. She made her feature-film debut in How Sweet It Is! (1968) with Debbie Reynolds, and made regular appearances on The Don Rickles Show in 1972, and guest appearances in The Courtship of Eddie's Father, My Three Sons, Bearcats!, and Family Affair. As a young child, she also appeared in the television series Gunsmoke. In 1974, at the age of 13, Moran was cast to play her best known role, Joanie Cunningham on the sitcom Happy Days, the feisty younger sister of Richie Cunningham (Ron Howard). Moran continued the role in 1982, in the short-lived spin-off series Joanie Loves Chachi, alongside Scott Baio, although she later stated that she had only reluctantly agreed to star in the series; she would have preferred to remain with Happy Days. She won the Young Artist Award for Best Young Actress in a New Television Series for her role. After Joanie Loves Chachi's cancellation in 1983, she returned to Happy Days for its final season. In 1983, Moran said in an interview that the Happy Days producers had pressured her to change from about the age of 15: they had "suddenly wanted me to lose weight and become this sexy thing."

Doris Hill

Biography

From Wikipedia Doris Hill (March 21, 1905 – March 3, 1976) was an American film actress of the 1920s and 1930s, mostly in B movies. Born and raised in Roswell, New Mexico, Hill moved to Hollywood in the mid-1920s to pursue an acting career. First working as a vaudeville dancer, she received her first film acting role in 1926 when she starred alongside George O'Hara in Is That Nice?. She starred in seventeen films from 1926 to 1929, and unlike many silent film stars, she made a successful transition to talking films. In 1929, along with future major Hollywood star Jean Arthur, Hill was selected as one of thirteen girls to be WAMPAS Baby Stars. On contract with Paramount Pictures, she starred in four films in 1930, most notably Sons of the Saddle with popular western actor Ken Maynard. Western film roles became her most common parts, with her often starring opposite Tom Tyler. In 1932, she starred in another six films, four of which were westerns. In 1933, she starred in four films, all westerns, and by 1934, her career had slowed to almost no roles. Her last acting role was in the 1934 western Ridin' Gents opposite Jack Perrin and Ben Corbett. She retired and married actor George L. Derrick, but they divorced shortly after. She then married Hollywood director, producer and writer Monte Brice, and eventually moved to Kingman, Arizona. She died there on March 3, 1976.

Sean Connery

Biography

Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 – October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer who won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery was polled in a 2004 The Sunday Herald as "The Greatest Living Scot" and in a 2011 EuroMillions survey as "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure". He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. Coy Bowles

Biography

Coy Bowles is an American musician best known as a member of Zac Brown Band, which won three Emmy awards. He plays guitar, slide guitar, dobro, piano and organ. He joined the Zac Brown Band in 2007, where he also has contributed as a songwriter. He has writing credits on the albums You Get What You Give, Uncaged and Jekyll + Hyde, including three No. 1 hit songs – "Knee Deep", "Colder Weather" and "Sweet Annie". Coy Bowles and The Fellowship is a band that fuses the roots of blues with jazz and elements of gospel, country and rock. In 2006, Coy Bowles and the Fellowship released their first album Into the Distance, the year before he joined Zac Brown Band. Coy Bowles and the Fellowship continue to play in the Atlanta area when he is not on the road with Zac Brown Band. In addition to making music, Bowles has written children's books. He focuses on today's issues, hoping to give children, parents and teachers a common ground for dealing with them.

Taylour Dominique Paige-Angulo (born October 5, 1990) is an American actress and dancer. She is best known for her role as Ahsha Hayes in the VH1 sports drama series Hit the Floor, and has gained recognition for her performances in the films Jean of the Joneses (2016), White Boy Rick (2018), Ma Rainey's Black Bottom (2020), Boogie (2021), and Zola (2020). Her performance in the latter film won her the Independent Spirit Award for Best Female Lead. In 2022, Paige ventured into music, collaborating with Kendrick Lamar on the song "We Cry Together", which reached the top twenty on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned her a Grammy Award nomination. Roxanne Kernohan

Biography

Kernohan began her career in 1988 when she appeared in the low-budget slasher film Fatal Pulse. She appeared in several other films during 1988 including Roger Corman remake Not of This Earth, the post apocalyptic action film She-Wolves of the Wasteland and the film in which she is best known for, Critters 2: The Main Course, where she plays "Lee", the bounty hunter. The same year she appeared in the documentary The Decline of the Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years. In 1989, she appeared in the action film Tango & Cash and the Playboy documentary Playboy: Sexy Lingerie. In 1990 she starred in Angel III: The Final Chapter, and her final film came in 1991 when she played herself in the direct-to-video film Scream Queen Hot Tub Party. In 1993, Kernohan died in hospital of injuries following a car accident.

Alfred Newman

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Alfred Newman (March 17, 1900 – February 17, 1970) was an American composer, arranger, and conductor of film music. From his start as a music prodigy, he came to be regarded as a respected figure in the history of film music. He won nine Academy Awards and was nominated forty-three times. In a career spanning more than four decades, Newman composed the scores for over 200 motion pictures. Some of his most famous scores include Wuthering Heights, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Mark of Zorro, How Green Was My Valley, The Song of Bernadette, Captain from Castile, All About Eve, Love is a Many Splendored Thing, Anastasia, The Diary of Anne Frank, How The West Was Won, The Greatest Story Ever Told, and his final score, Airport, all of which were nominated for or won Academy Awards. Newman was also highly regarded as a conductor, and arranged and conducted many scores by other composers, including George Gershwin, Charlie Chaplin, and Irving Berlin. He also conducted the music for many film adaptations of Broadway musicals (having worked on Broadway for ten years before coming to Hollywood), as well as many original Hollywood musicals. He was among the first musicians to compose and conduct original music during Hollywood's Golden Age of movies, later becoming a respected and powerful music director in the history of Hollywood.
