Émilie Caen

Biography

Émilie Caen is a French actress. She is known for playing the role of Ségolène in Serial (Bad) Weddings. Thanks to her mother, who regularly took her to the theater, Emilie decided to become an actress. After graduating from high school, she enrolled at the Perimony drama school in 1997, where she trained for three years. In the years that followed, she continued her training at the Pygmalion studio, then joined an Actor's Studio workshop. At the same time, Emilie Caen began her career on stage: Sur la grande route, Bal-Trap, L'illusion comique. Later, she made her television debut with small roles in Spécial Camera Café, Commissaire Cordier and Sections de recherches. The French film family opened its doors to her a little later, in 2007, with a role in the Franco-Canadian romance Jusqu'à toi alongside Mélanie Laurent. She then played the gallery owner in the lucrative Intouchables, France's biggest hit of 2011. The actress continued her career in other comedies produced in France, landing small roles in Michaël Youn's Vive la France and La Clinique de l'amour by her friend Artus de Penguern, who called on her again when he shot the Benjamin video for singer Florent Marchet. In 2012, she landed the lead role in a duet with Michèle Bernier in the TF1 series Injustice, in which she plays her assistant. In 2013, viewers discovered the actress in a brand-new role: Nadine Pitou, the elementary school teacher in the TF1 series Pep's. The series was a great success (record audience of 8.6 million). In 2014, she starred in the comedy Qu'est-ce qu'on a fait au Bon Dieu? She plays Ségolène, one of the daughters of the Verneuil family, a depressive painter who marries a Chinese man, much to the chagrin of her parents, played by Chantal Lauby and Christian Clavier. In 2015, she also appeared in the mini-series Le Mystère du lac broadcast on TF1. In 2016, she played the lead role in an episode of Joséphine, ange gardien: Enfants, mode d'emploi. Now a star of the small and big screen, she joined the cast of the event mini-series Le Mystère du Lac on TF1 and the series Un Village français. In early 2017, her return was confirmed in Qu'est-ce qu'on a fait au bon dieu? In June 2018, the actress has a role in the series Qu'est ce qu'on attend pour être heureux?. From December 6, the series Papa ou maman launches with Émilie Caen in the lead role of the mom, alongside Florent Peyre as the dad. On January 30, 2019, she reprises her role as Ségolène Verneuil, the central role in the film Qu'est-ce qu'on an encore fait au Bon Dieu?, the sequel to the 2014 hit Qu'est-ce qu'on a fait au Bon Dieu?. In this feature film, Ségolène wants to fly to China with her husband and children, where her art would be better understood thanks to a potential buyer discovered on the internet. Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 – October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer who won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery was polled in a 2004 The Sunday Herald as "The Greatest Living Scot" and in a 2011 EuroMillions survey as "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure". He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. Margaret JoBeth Williams (born December 6, 1948) is an Academy Award, Golden Globe, and Emmy nominated American film and television actress and director, and current President of the Screen Actors Guild Foundation. Williams rose to prominence appearing in such films as Stir Crazy (1980), Poltergeist (1982), The Big Chill (1983), The Day After (1983), Teachers (1984), and Poltergeist II: The Other Side (1986). A three-time Emmy Award nominee, she was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie for her work in the TV movie Adam (1983) and the TV miniseries Baby M (1988). Her third nomination was for her guest role in the sitcom Frasier (1994). Her directorial debut with the 1994 short film On Hope earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Live Action Short Film. She also starred in the TV series The Client (1995–96), and had recurring roles in the TV series Dexter (2007) and Private Practice (2009–11). Barbara Boxer

Barbara Sue Boxer (née Levy; born November 11, 1940) is an American politician and lobbyist who served in the United States Senate, representing California from 1993 to 2017. A member of the Democratic Party, she previously served as the U.S. representative for California's 6th congressional district from 1983 until 1993. Born in Brooklyn, New York City, Boxer graduated from George W. Wingate High School and Brooklyn College. She worked as a stockbroker for several years before moving to California with her husband. During the 1970s, she worked as a journalist for the Pacific Sun and as an aide to U.S. Representative John L. Burton. She served on the Marin County Board of Supervisors for six years and became the board's first female president. With the slogan "Barbara Boxer Gives a Damn", she was elected to the United States House of Representatives in 1982, representing California's 6th district. Boxer won the 1992 election for the U.S. Senate. Running for a third term in 2004, she received 6.96 million votes, becoming the first person to ever get more than 6 million votes in a Senate election and set a record for the most votes in any U.S. Senate election in history, until her colleague, Dianne Feinstein, the senior senator from California, surpassed that number in her 2012 re-election. Boxer and Feinstein were the first female pair of U.S. Senators representing any state at the same time. Boxer was the ranking member of the Environment and Public Works Committee and the vice chair of the Select Committee on Ethics. She was also the Democratic Chief Deputy Whip. Boxer is known for her liberal perspectives.

Peter Lawrence Buck (born December 6, 1956) is an American musician and songwriter. He was a co-founder and the lead guitarist of the alternative rock band R.E.M. He also plays the banjo and mandolin on several R.E.M. songs. Throughout his career with R.E.M. (1980–2011), as well as during his subsequent solo career, Buck has also been at various times an official member of numerous 'side project' groups. These groups included Arthur Buck (with Joseph Arthur), Hindu Love Gods, The Minus 5, Tuatara, The Baseball Project, Robyn Hitchcock and the Venus 3, Tired Pony, The No-Ones and Filthy Friends, each of which have released at least one full-length studio album. Additionally, the experimental combo Slow Music (which also features Fred Chalenor, Hector Zazou, Matt Chamberlain, Robert Fripp, and Bill Rieflin) have released an official live concert CD. Another side project group called Full Time Men released an EP while Buck was a member. Pia Merete Tjelta (born 12 September 1977 Stavanger ) is a Norwegian actress. Tjelta graduated from the Norwegian National Academy of Theatre in 2006, but had already appeared in many films. She made her film debut in 2001 in the film Mongoland. She entered the Norwegian National Academy of Theatre in 2000, but after taking a two-year maternity leave, she did not manage to graduate until 2006. In 2005, she also worked on the jury of the TV series Filmstjerne on TV 2. She made her stage debut in 2006 with the play Fyrverkerimakarens dotter at Det Norske Teatret. Spencer-Nairn has appeared in a number of Canadian film and TV productions since the mid-1990s. Some of her most noted productions include New Waterford Girl, Wishmaster 4: The Prophecy Fulfilled, and guest appearances on Puppets Who Kill, Relic Hunter, Tom Stone, Bliss, and two appearances on the 1990s revival of The Outer Limits. Concurrent to appearing in Corner Gas, the actress also appeared on the science fiction series ReGenesis. In 2011, Spencer-Nairn joined the Season 2 cast of CTV's The Listener to play Nurse Sandy; head triage nurse at fictional St. Luke's Hospital.
