Patagonia, Argentina. A mechanic who dreams of a different life begins to think big after his adopted puppy Bombón wins first prize at a local dog show.
The film begins with some sequences related to the youth of Dr. Ricardo Gutiérrez, his arrival in Buenos Aires from his native Arrecifes, his law studies and a double frustration, as a writer and in his crush on a young woman who loved another man.
An obsessive reporter is locked in an asylum where some murders will take place.
While conducting interviews with women working in local brothels, Fernando, a journalist, meets Elisa. The woman will tell him her dramatic story, which begins at age 14 when she is raped by her godfather.
