Daniel, a Spanish filmmaker would like to give his country back some of the hope it has lost due to the financial crisis. He's determined to shoot an inspirational movie about the Moncloa Pact, the agreement that brought back Democracy to Spain after the Franco era. The thing is he wants the film to be a musical.

A walk through the work of Luis García Berlanga (1921-2010) that is neither a documentary nor a narrative movie, but a tribute to one of the greatest directors of Spanish cinema. Anything can happen: the performers are not themselves, but their characters; there are no interviews, but greetings; a series of entrances and exits. A joyful reunion, a celebration of life.

Carmen, a journalist with two children, is on her third marriage, to Antonio, a record producer. Over the course of a year, we follow her through her discontents: Antonio's lateness, his fatigue when she wants to make love, his insistence on her company when she prefers solitude, his treating her work as less important than his, his casual and cruel dismissal of her opinions, her boss assigning her an incompetent editor, bartenders ignoring her, her passage into middle age. She can be feisty and edgy, which sometimes gets in the way of what would make her happy. And she regularly threatens to leave Antonio. Will she, and on what terms? What will he do?

While they prepare for the Three Wise Men's Cavalcade, Melchior, Gaspar and Balthazar open the doors to their palace for the first time for the filming of a documentary about their daily lives.
