One day, a landlord belonging to a rich family gets murdered and the crime is imposed on Anandar, his innocent brother, and his lovely wife Karpagavalli.

A murder-mystery, in which the friend of a wealthy, elderly couple tries to bring about a reconciliation between them on the one hand, and their their estranged relatives on the other.

Kamini, a pretty woman, and Raja, a handsome man, are in love, but Raja's parents do not approve of the match.

The business partner and some employees of the elderly Mr. Somasundaram plot to eliminate him by hiding a bomb inside a doll. Learning of the plot, a few others try to avert the calamity. The story consists of the series of events by which the doll keeps changing hands, while being chased by those involved in the plot, and also by those trying to prevent it from exploding.

A little princess, Ranjani is tattooed with the royal insignia as part of tradition, and the same night, the child is kidnapped by one of the members of the tattoo gang who brings her up as a gypsy girl renaming her Rani. Unaware of her royal lineage, she grows up hawking things on the street and getting into brawls with no punches pulled. She falls in love with a soldier and the story progresses with twists. After several hardships, she realises the truth, and all is well that ends well.

The story of this film revolves around Sri Rama and Seetha's wedding.
