A forty something man, Bosse, perpetually down on his luck but always optimistic, hopes to impress his new girlfriend by accepting a job as headwaiter at a remote boardinghouse.
Two students ponder the afterlife. They make a nocturnal agreement that the one who dies first will appear to the other at a certain time the day after the funeral. Then one student dies.
