Tanti Adjo has been an orphan since teenage years. Now the owner of a ready-made clothes shop, she lives withdrawn into herself. Someday she meets by chance Sabi Kazan, a young university professor. Attracted to Adjo, Sabi decides to find her, which he does. One date leads to another and a formal engagement ensues. But happiness is short-lived as one day Adjo is found by the body of her dead beloved, with an arm in her hand. Did she really kill the man she was in love with. And for what reason?

A Senegalese platoon of soldiers from the French Free Army are returned from combat in France and held for a temporary time in a military encampment with barbed wire fences and guard towers in the desert. Among their numbers are Sergeant Diatta, the charismatic leader of the troop who was educated in Paris and has a French wife and child, and Pays, a Senegalese soldier left in a state of shock from the war and concentration camps and who can only speak in guttural screams and grunts.

Traumatized and plagued by nightmares, Simon plans to escape with his comrades while special forces of the African Union prepare an attack on Black Lion.
