Three children and their uncle find a magic painting in the uncle's attic. When they pronounce a spell, a lady named Esmeralda emerges from the painting. The lady must return to the painting, unless certain conditions are fulfilled. A magic drink, which makes them invisible, should help them. Two thieves (who seem to like nothing but cakes) kidnap one of the children to require a ransom. And it is found that a man, the father of Peter Faber (that's the name of an actor too, but not in this movie) is needed for help. That is not easy, since the they are not on friendly terms with Peter and his father.

When Brutus notices that Sinterklaas is not interested in his products, he and his mother devise Dr. Brein and her accomplices Joris and Boris plan to rob Sinterklaas. The two children Milan and Eva have intercepted the plans of the mean Brutus and do everything they can to inform Sinterklaas. RTL Boulevard is a daily television programme on the Dutch broadcasting station RTL 4. It was set up as a television equivalent of a tabloid, with a lot of airy subjects, news items and gossip about the stars, fashion and criminality. The programme is renowned for its sarcastic and cynical tone. From the beginning in 2001, Beau van Erven Dorens was the main presenter. He was supported by his co-presenter Albert Verlinde and a daily rotating "expert". On 1 April 2005 Beau Van Erven Dorens went to Talpa television station and Daphne Bunskoek has taken over his place. When Daphne Bunskoek also left the show, she was replaced by Winston Gerschtanowitz and Humberto Tan. Regular returning co-presenters are: Peter van der Vorst, Marc van der Linden, John van den Heuvel, Abraham Moszkowicz, Irene van de Laar, Fiona Hering.

In this singing competition reality series, each series a number of well-known performers are picked and in each episode, one singer is centrally focussed and the remaining artists sing songs by that specific artist. The original artist judges the "covers" of his songs done by the participant artists.
