The Legend of Space Sheriff Gavan is a special DVD released with Televi-Kun in 2012 to promote the film Space Sheriff Gavan: The Movie. It features the second Space Sheriff Gavan, Geki Jumonji and his partner, Shelly as well as the members of the Space Mafia Maku.

While sorting through a mess of books in the staff room, Ohana happens upon one of Denroku's log books from long ago. Within it, it recounts a story of Ohana's mom when she was the same age as her.

When a Lupin impersonator is arrested for shoplifting in Tokyo, dozens of other copycats converge on the city to clear the name of Arsene Lupin III. The real Lupin is in town too, both to watch the show and to steal a mysterious item called the Ice Cube. But one of those impostors also has sights on the Cube. Ohana is sent off to live with her grandmother, who owns the hot spring inn. Upon arriving, she is put to work at the inn. Thrust into a life where the customers always come first, she struggles to find her place and fit in with her fellow coworkers.

Space Sheriff Gavan is the first of the Metal Hero Series. It aired on TV Asahi from March 5, 1982 through February 25, 1983. For distribution purposes, Toei refers to this television series as Space Cop Gabin.
