To coincide with the release of their self-titled, eighth studio album, Norwegian black metallers SATYRICON played a very special, exclusive show on September 8, 2013 at at Den Norske Opera & Ballett in Oslo, Norway, where they were joined by the 55-strong Norwegian National Opera Chorus as part of the Ultima Oslo Contemporary Music Festival.

Det svarte alvor is a Norwegian documentary about black metal music and satanism, church fires in the 1990s, and the assassination of Øystein Aarseth.

Satyricon play the 2016 Graspop Metal Meeting

The concert took place on August 11, 2018 during the Summer Breeze Festival in Dinkelsbühl. Originally a black metal band, they were then considered traitors to their own genre. Nowadays Norwegians are mainly one thing: cult. Satyricon has been around since 1990, this veteran of Black Metal, which was originally supposed to be a quartet. But since their band members left for various reasons, Sigurd "Satyr" Wongraven (vocals/guitar) and Kjetil "Frost" Haraldstad (drums) have been rocking out on their own, bringing guest musicians into the happily rotating lineup.

Norwegian black metal is beloved by fans worldwide, but is also known for it's shocking story. Now the musicians who created the grim genre, tells how it all came to be.

TV veteran Petter Schjerven, musician and host Esben "Dansken" Selvig and super driver and drifting-star Fredric Aasbø will travel around the Nordics to test and compete with new and old vehicles, slow and fast, ugly and beautiful - in short, everything that can roll and crash.
