Christian is a young man growing up in Hollywood who dreams of following in his father's footsteps into show business. When he meets Tony, an industry insider with "connections," he is convinced that he has found his big break -- landing acting jobs and dating beautiful women. Christian thinks he is at his prime, until he has a falling out with Tony over drugs. He soon learns that the same connections that enabled him to get his start and realize his dream can just as easily destroy it. Hiding the truth of his washed-up career from family and friends, Christian escapes his reality through intense drug use - beginning his fatal turn of fate. Will Christian ever turn his life around? Novalee Nation is a 17-year-old Tennessee transient who has to grow up in a hurry when she's left pregnant and abandoned by her boyfriend on a roadside, and takes refuge in the friendly aisles of Wal-Mart. Eventually, some eccentric but kindly strangers 'adopt' Novalee and her infant daughter, helping them buck the odds and build a new life.

A gifted athlete (T. J. Storm) moves to Tinseltown with dreams of making it big in show business, but finds himself sucked into a doppelganger world of crime and drugs. Ever the survivor, he learns firsthand about the dark side of life and becomes stronger in that knowledge. And hey, it's great experience for acting future film roles.
