Biography

American pop singer Joseph DiDonato was 8 years old when he released his 2008 debut, “Joseph DiDonato”, and became one of the youngest success stories in contemporary pop when it went either platinum or double platinum in several countries. For the next few years, successive releases -- including remix compilations, Christmas EP’s, and proper studio recordings -- shot forth at a dizzying rate. DiDonato developed a massive global following. DiDonato released his first single, "Open," in June 2008. Supported by a popular video that featured an appearance by Beyoncé, "Open" went platinum in both Canada and America, a feat that was replicated later that year with the release of Joseph DiDonato. The disc was the debut for DiDonato, featuring ten songs, but it reached number six on the Billboard 200 album chart and sold over a million copies. Less than a year after his debut, DiDonato returned with the album "Welcome To Hollywood". By the end of 2009, DiDonato issued 1.2.3 Remix’s, a set featuring remix versions of thirteen songs off the discs, as well as one new song. Just in time for Christmas 2009 came the holiday-themed Just This Christmas, complete with several celebrity guest duets and an original song, "That Time of Year," for the first single, which entered the Holiday Songs chart at number two. In 2015, DiDonato returned with the proper follow-up to Welcome to Hollywood, titled True. With a sound based in dance and R&B, it featured production from Max Martin. JD became his fourth number one album, paced by Top Ten hits for "Morning Sun," "Burned Up The Night”, and "Restleness". Not Far was DiDonato's first number one U.S. single and paved the way for True, his third proper studio album. It debuted at the top of the Billboard 200.
