The film focuses on the little-known love affair of the terrorist Fanny Kaplan with the brother of Vladimir Lenin, Dmitriy Ilyich Ulyanov, and questions whether she really tried to assassinate Lenin in 1918.

The main character of the movie "How to get a woman" - an employee of the Observatory Petya. Every night he looks at the stars and believes in love, which is written in novels and told in old movies. Getting acquainted, he asks how to find the North star, because it is important for him that the girl was a romantic. At twenty-six, he is alone, because he has not yet received an answer to this question.

Vanya and Sonya got married early-contrary to the superstition that early marriage leads to a quick divorce. A year after the birth of their daughter, they go out together to the pub and there they quarrel-it would seem, just like that. But Sonya takes the situation seriously and leaves the house, leaving a note to Vanya – "we must break up". But they will only be able to live without each other for one day – a day of memories and sadness. During this day, they will understand that nothing is more important than being together.

The movie is based on the real story of Nika Turbina, once world-famous Soviet child poetess, who got completely forgotten in the 1990s. That's when we meet her: at the age of 27 Nika is full of hopes and doubts regarding her gift. Due to the age restriction, she's got just one shot to enter the Drama School, and that's her only chance to separate from her cherishing and oppressive mother. Acquaintance with a new friend Ivan gives Nika hope for a happy future, but there is still something in her memory that triggers her. Tragically cheerful, painfully confused and desperately believing in love and life after childhood, Nika puts everything on the line to overcome ghosts of the past.

Boris is called up for military service in a "hot spot". His bride Larissa, soon receives a letter stating that he was missing. A friend of Boris Nikolai, who was secretly in love with Larissa begins aggressively courting her and finally makes a proposal. The girl is forced to accept it. On the eve of her wedding Boris unexpectedly returns. Their feelings for each other are still there, but the young man disappears again ...

Petersburg at the end of the 19th century was embraced by a massive enthusiasm for the occult sciences and esotericism. British medium Olivia Reed arrives in the capital of the Russian Empire on tour and gathers crowds of people at her public spiritualistic sessions. At this time, a series of ritual mysterious murders takes place in the city. Girls are abducted on the streets, their mutilated bodies are found in various parts of the city. The investigation is carried out by a young police officer Rostov and his assistant Ganin. With each new victim, things are becoming more confused. Suspicion leads Rostov to Olivia, and he decides to turn to her in the hope that her genuine or imaginary ability to summon the spirits of the dead can help to get on the trail of the killer.
