During the uprising to overthrow the Shah's regime in Iran, protestors set fire to movie theatres to protest Western culture. Forty years later, four people decide to re-create the past by burning down a theatre.

The only nuptial condition an inveterate chain smoker receives from his perfume-testing fiancee is to quit smoking. This poses a problem for the advertising agency ideas man for whom smoking is all part of the creative process.

A violent quarrel breaks out between a couple at midnight. Being at a relative's house in the north of Iran, they depart for Tehran in the middle of the night, but they do not bring along their son. Something terrible happens on their way...
