Kazuyuki Kuga aspires to become an actor. He auditions for the lead role in a theater company's next work. Among the 300 people who take part in that audition, only 7 people are selected for a final audition round. Kazuyuki Kuga is among the final 7 participants. These 7 people then travel to a snowy mountain villa and stay there for 4 days to take the final audition. By the director's orders, all contact with the outside world are not allowed. Soon, the participants begin to disappear one by one.

The Dangerous Detective Is Back

Mishima Kiko was exploited by her own family. When she was little, her mother neglected her. After her mother remarried, Kiko was abused mentally and physically by her mother, stepfather, and younger stepbrother. She didn't belong to this family. Somehow, she disconnects from her family in Tokyo and moves to a seaside town in Oita. There, she meets a 13-year-old boy named Mushi. The story is set in 2018, 25 years after the original manga's "Video Girl Ai" arc ("Video Girl Len" arc was set seven years after the first arc). At school, he develops feelings for his classmate Nanami, but Nanami likes his friend Tomoaki. One day, he finds an old broken video cassette recorder at his uncle’s house. Sho repairs the video cassette recorder and suddenly a video of girl plays. The girl in the video introduces herself as Video Girl Ai. The girl then steps out of the video and lives with Sho for the next 3 months.

Residents get murdered one by one. Some residents have a motive, but those suspects have an alibi. Because of this, an arrest has yet to be made.
