Two friends from a small Greek town travel to Bulgaria and Switzerland, hoping they can gain money from the difference in foreign exchange rates.
Aris, a 38-year-old worker in a factory is fired without any warning. He is shocked. As his attempts to be re-hired fail, he gradually becomes obsessed with the idea of taking justice into his own hands. He buys a gun with the last of his money. He is ready to proceed with his goal when his ex-wife dumps their six-year-old son on him.
For five minutes we watch three metaphoric shots. In the central one, we see a naked young man, a "tableau vivant" of the ancient Greek statue Antinoos. The film is an allegory about youth, beauty and civilization.

Stella is a beautiful young girl who dreams of becoming one day a famous singer. Her boyfriend Andreas leads a quiet life working at his small store, and doesn't approve Stella's quest for fame. When she decides to leave Athens for a singing job offered to her somewhere in north Greece, Andreas sets off on a quest to find her again and convince her to come back to him
