A young couple out on a romantic vacation accidentally get involved in a showdown between criminals. They become two witnesses who has to be silenced.
Antonio Moro works for gangster boss Thomas Ståhl. He lives happily with his girlfriend Tanya who is expecting their child. Antonio's future looks bright, until one evening when he is ordered to kill a person who is close to all of them.
In 1876, Strindberg is penniless and once again his play "Master Olof" is rejected by the Royal Dramatic Theater. Debt collectors his furniture and Strindberg is on the verge of committing suicide.
