Gloria sells dolls in benefit of UNICEF and is interested in putting on an international show. In a hotel in Acapulco the ranchero Javier, the Muslims Mustafa and Ali, the Brazilian Mr. Carioca and the charro José Lorenzo meet to carry out the project. Among the men there will be a series of entanglements to dispute the love of the young woman.

Based on a famous Chilean musical play first performed in 1960, this Spanish-Argentinian adaptation is the story of a young woman from the country who comes to the big city in search of love and leisure, only to discover the true value of her roots.

There are 3 stories about the intermediaries of marriage (the ads of magazines, seers and agencies): Sentimental mail, about an energetic woman who wants to marry a dominable man; Elixir of love, on the subject of the title; and Romantic about a melodic singer.

Young nightclub performer, down on her luck, falls in with a portrait-cartoonist who works the streets and a terminally-ill singer-songwriter and goes to live on their houseboat. They consider doing a crime.
