Dhol Taashe is a Marathi drama that cinematically frames the musical culture of Maharashtra through the eyes of a simpleton, Amey an IT executive. Passionate about keeping the ethnicity of his state alive through music, Amey decides to join a group name Dhol Taashe that plays during cultural procession in Maharashtra.

The journey of a boy on his quest through all the hardships, hurdles and circumstances. All in all, the film is a gritty tale of how you can strive to make all your dreams come true

The film revolves around Rahul Desai (Siddharth Ramchandra Jadhav) who lives with wife Sunita (Nandita Patkar), son Chinmay (Aaryan Menghji) and mother (Usha Naik) in Kolhapur. Both, Rahul and Sunita, struggle to speak in English. Their son, Chinmay, also studies in a Marathi medium school and hence talking in English is too problematic for him too. When destiny propels Rahul to get Chinmay admitted to an English medium school, unfortunately for him, his life becomes hell when he starts attending the new school as he can't keep up with his English-speaking classmates. When Chinmay has to present his project at a science competition, he falters in English and the judge asks him to speak in Marathi. Chinmay wins the competition and convinced that his old school is not bad, he re-joins his Marathi medium school.

Samir and Aparna find out about Aparna's pregnancy and plan a weekend trip to Roha to visit Sada and his wife Shalini, ex students of Samir's father. Sada works for a company which builds resorts while Shalini is a doting mother to their son Mohit. Sada and Shalini welcome Samir and Aparna. But Mohit is out for a school picnic. As the night night passes there is no sign of Mohit returning home and Shalini panics and ask Sada to find the reason behind delay. But the situation gets more tense and Samir and Aparna realize that things are not the same what it seems to be.
