In the wake of the Cairo Fire, Essam feels guilty for betraying his friend Samir by messing around with his wife Madiha. Essam decides to take revenge on Madiha's father who pressured him to marry her to avoid a scandal.

As Sharbat marries her sweetheart, she comes to realize that their ambitions and plans for the future do not align. She gets a divorce and falls in love with a rich student, only to marry his father. When the jealous student kills his father, Sharbat inherits her husband's entire fortune.

Ibrahim (Salah al-Saadani) abandons his wife Fawzia (Najla Fathi) and leaves the town and settles in Cairo, where he married Hassania (Aida Riad), Fawzia and Ibrahim deny his knowledge of her and claims that the detective is crazy and exploits that she has no proof of her identity. She also comes with a pair of false papers calling for her child. Fawzia collapses and becomes depressed. They enter the mental hospital. Farida (Yusra) sympathizes with her and tries to help her in every way.

Before the 1967 setback in a public transport bus, a quarrel occurrs between Jaber and his neighbor Marzouq with the bus collector. The quarrel ends with Jaber and Marzouq getting booked at the police station, where they are in detention with a group of political opponents. They get deported with all the detainees to prison.

In 1968, the university doctor (Hussein) and his wife (Mona) are arrested. The wife dies in prison due to severe torture. Dr. Hussein is subjected to ill-treatment inside the prison, and after a while he is released and released from prison, but he refuses to return to his previous work or any other profession. He meets the dancer (Eka), who takes him to a new and different direction in his life.
