Nathalie Dagenais is a 19 year old girl studying to be a lawyer. New to the city of Montreal, she will soon discover the world of porn. One day, her father (Michel Côté) comes across her picture on the Internet and wants to find her and before she makes what he thinks is a mistake. The story goes from past to present, when a police officer investigates the death of Max, a man who Nathalie knew.

Inside a house he doesn’t recognize, with a family he doesn’t know, a young man tries to make some sense of what is happening to him. Everything keeps changing, his mind is sick. "Trust the protocol" is all he can do.

The documentary tells the story of the immigrants who came to Canada with dreams of a better life. Featuring incredible archival footage, photographs and documents as well as interviews with historians, sociologists as well as first-hand accounts from several Italian Canadians.
