The plot revolves around a train named Super Express that catches fire on its inaugural run from New Delhi to Mumbai.

Kalyani lives in a small tenement with three sons, Vijay, Nandu, and Bhola, all of whom are unemployed, slackers and trouble-makers. One day Nandu gets into serious trouble with Shantilal, who summons the police, and has him arrested. Kalyani goes to the Police Station to plead with the In-Charge Officer to release Nandu, to no avail. She then goes to Shantilal to try to persuade him to withdraw the charges, also to no avail.

Will Ratan commit this felony, or refuse at the risk of losing Reddy and Mala.

She abandons the child in a taxi-cab, and the child ends up with Deepak's sister, Neela. Watch how hilarious chaos reigns as the child keeps on ending up with Deepak - no matter what he does to get rid of it.

Raja (Dev Anand) has been abandoned by his biological mother at a very young age, and grows up with Master (Jeevan), a criminal don and card-sharp, who would like Raja to continue working with him on a commission basis. Raja learns all that could be learned about playing cards, quits work with Master, and starts work on his own. He succeeds considerably, and soon gets rich and wealthy. He falls in love with beautiful Chandra Gangaram (Zaheeda), and would like to marry her. But her father would like her to marry U.K. settled Ram Mehta(Sudhir), before Raja could do or say anything against this alliance, he is charged with the cold-blooded murder of Master. The climax in Raja's life is in the Court Room where he will find out about his past, and about his parents - while he awaits the outcome of the trial. Peter (O. P. Ralhan) and Kitty (Helen) love each other, but due to Peter's poverty, they are unable to marry each other. One day, during a secret rendezvous, Peter accidentally overhear a conversation between one Mahesh Jetley and his paramour, where Mahesh tells her that he is soon going to bump off his wife on a certain date. Peter and Kitty decide to foil this man's plans. However, there are 2 problems: 1 - They have not seen Mahesh or his paramour's face. 2 - Even if they had, no one would believe their story. Plainclothes Police Inspector Amar has been assigned the task of apprehending an elusive criminal don who goes under the name of Hardayal. During his investigation, he meets with fellow Inspector Chhaya, and both fall in love. During this investigation, Chhaya finds out that Amar has been two-timing her, and there is confrontation between the two. Amar also goes beyond the call of duty, and is subsequently suspended. Stripped of his powers, Amar is caught by Hardayal and imprisoned, leaving Chhaya alone to figure out the whereabouts of this criminal.

On the day of her marriage, the bride goes missing. She ends up in a brothel, compelling her wealthy husband to pretend that all is well to keep the family's honor intact.
