Tater-Kristen was born in Øvre Rendal in 1735. He falls in love with the dark and mysterious tater girl Kirsti, and joins the tater party.
The film takes place 100 years ago at Prestegárden in Ovre Rendal. Johannes, Jacob's brother, falls ill with pneumonia. The road to Tynset and the doctor is long, so Vesleblakken has a difficult journey ahead of him.
