Through the prism of a traditional Turkish rakı table, ERKEKLER (“Men” in Turkish) takes a look at gender identity and what it means to be and act the masculine gender. Two old friends, Ali and Haydar; meet after a long period of separation and catch up with each other’s lives. As is traditional with Turkish rakı tables, the conversation quickly turns towards heavy subjects like love and loss.

Ecem and Rahmi, who are at the very beginning of their relationship, live in the basement of an apartment in Istanbul. Their life takes a different turn one night when Ecem's ex-boyfriend Kazim comes to their doorstep. The anger of Rahmi, who is very jealous, causes a night full of regrets.

Dilan works in her uncle's real estate office and lives with her mother. She will turn thirty soon, and feels she is not living up to her potential. A documentary crew follows her while they try to figure out the problem.
