Biography

Julie Ann Serrano is an Australian comedic actress, host and producer who grew up in Adelaide, South Australia, and now resides in Los Angeles, California. She got her start in the entertainment industry at the age of 10. She spent her childhood and adolescence attending singing, dancing, acting classes, and performing at events and shows across her hometown, as well as competing in dance competitions around Australia. She also attended weekly private vocal lessons at Paradise Church, where popular singer Guy Sebastian began his musical career. At age 18, she was accepted into the Dance Performance Diploma course at the Dance Factory and moved to Melbourne for this reason and to pursue a career in Musical Theater. Whilst living in Melbourne, she trained with exceptional choreographers in the styles of jazz, contemporary, ballet and hip hop and when she wasn't in a dance class, she was busy completing on camera acting studies at the Victorian College of the Arts. Whilst in Melbourne, she filmed a few episodes of Rebel Wilson's "Bogan Pride." Soon after, her adventurous spirit lead her to traveling around Europe and she ended up living in London briefly to audition for musicals, live shows and television, but decided Los Angeles was where she wanted to be. At age 21, she won a full talent scholarship to the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles. Whilst studying acting full time, she worked professionally as a print model and corporate spokesmodel. In addition to acting, she decided to try stand up comedy also. She has since performed at Gotham Comedy Club New York, Comedy Store Los Angeles and the Out of Bounds Comedy Festival in Austin, Texas. She has trained at Lesly Kahn, Killian's Commercial Workshop, Groundlings, Judy Kain and can also be spotted in several commercials and infomercials around the United States, Australia, Europe and South America. Since landing in Los Angeles she has appeared in several TV shows such as House, The Raw Word, Celebrities Undercover, Drug Lords, Real Housewives of Orange County, Un Nuevo Dia (Telemundo). What makes her unique is her love of Latin culture, which has lead to her learning salsa and bachata dancing (she performed at the Los Angeles Bachata Festival in 2019), teaching herself to speak Spanish and was also a strong contender for a Spanish T-Mobile Ad where she got to dance to one of her favorite reggaeton artists, J Balvin.
