Twenty follows Emily, a homeless ballet dancer undertaking a potentially life-changing audition. In the audition room, identified by the auditioners as the girl wearing the number twenty, Emily is graceful and poised. Still, in the real world, she struggles to find somewhere to sleep, let alone focus on her artistry.

In a 2012 London house-share, childhood best friends Maggie and Birdy — now in their 20s — experience bad dates, heartaches and humiliation. With flashbacks to suburban adolescence in the early noughties, the series begs the question: can platonic love survive romantic love as we grow up?

Hezekiah and Alec, two friends from Jamaica, finds themselves thrust into the criminal underbelly of London's East End. Here they meet Mary Carr, Queen of an all-female criminal gang known as the Forty Elephants, and run afoul of Sugar Goodson, criminal kingpin and notorious boxer.
