An interstellar robot is stolen by the mysterious Leo Perlstein. College student Ben Samahon teams up with others linked with the robot's past to reacquire it before Leo obtains its unique power.

A product of a distant planet, hundreds of miniature robots nicknamed "MiP" are built and scattered across the galaxy to assist in the evolution of habitable planets, with one of the hundreds being Earth.
