Monika meets Ginte while taking pictures at night in an abandoned building. After meeting, Monika and Ginte exchange photo negatives. They agree to take photos on the tapes again, and agree to meet and see how the photos turned out in the double exposure. When Monika takes a photo of Ginte's tape and highlights it, Monika begins to see overlapping portraits of herself and Ginte. The tension between Juste and Monika grows. Monika and Ginte meet to exchange photos. Monika tries to kiss Ginte, but Monika is rejected. After returning home, Monika is surprised to see that Juste has also left her.

A famous comedian makes a confession to a closeted stranger, two bickering parents come home to a surprising discovery, and an art gallery attendant gets a short glimpse into the life of a young woman she once briefly knew. Enter a new world with six enlightening tales of private revelations, lingering secrets and those fleeting moments where the burdens of everyday life are temporarily lifted.

With gentle irony, “Cinephilia” unmasks the illusion of film. Characters migrate through the worlds of reality and fantasy, in circumstances that paradoxically have no questions or answers. The two moons of Lars von Trier shine in the night sky, entrancing the main heroes, Roland and Isabel. Roland rents himself a room where he winds up in situations reminiscent of the plots found in Franz Kafka’s “The Trial” or Roman Polański’s “The Tenant”. A guy visits Roland, claiming that they known each other, and offers him a lot of money to film his suicide. There begins a kaleidoscopic sequence of events and random acquaintances. They make the characters wander through the worlds of reality and fantasy, sometimes both at the same time. A dark comedy that tells nine related stories in which the fates of the characters intertwine.
