We see the story of the battle through the eyes of Jedrek - a young boy who went through the hell of the gulag and left Russia with the Anders Army as one of thousands of orphans. The time of captivity changed him from a boy from a good family into a schemer and petty thief who will do anything to survive.

This year has not been kind to strawberries. At the beginning of April it snowed. Strawberries began to bloom on the 21st.
