Ann McCrea

Biography

Ann McCrea (born February 25, 1931, Height 5'5") is an American film and television actress. She is known for playing Midge Kelsey in the American sitcom television series The Donna Reed Show. McCrea was born in DuBois, Pennsylvania to a Greek mother and Scottish father. She attended a modeling school, and became a cover girl and model. She met Bing Crosby, who encouraged her to move to Hollywood, California. McCrea began her acting career in 1952, appearing in the film Deadline – U.S.A. playing the uncredited role of "Sally Gardner". She also guest-starred in television programs including Bachelor Father, Mr. Adams and Eve, and The Twilight Zone. In 1963, McCrea was cast as Midge Kelsey in The Donna Reed Show. She remained with the series until its end in 1966. Her character was the best friend of Donna Stone (Donna Reed) and a neighbor on the show's fictional cul-de-sac. After The Donna Reed Show, McCrea continued to work in television, appearing in shows such as The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, and Murder, She Wrote. She also appeared in a few films, including Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter? (1957) and Girls, Girls, Girls (1962). McCrea retired from acting in the early 1980s. She currently resides in California.

Magnus Caris

Biography

Magnus Caris (born 15 November 1968) is a Swedish former professional darts player who competed in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He is famous for his semi final match in the 1994 BDO World Darts Championship against crowd favourite Bobby George. He defeated Wayne Weening, Leo Laurens and Martin Adams to set up a match with George who was struggling with a very bad back following his quarter final win over Kevin Kenny. Caris lost the first 2 sets against George, but then won the next 4 sets and went 2 legs up in the seventh set. In the third leg of the seventh set, Caris had one dart at double 18 to win the match with a 141 checkout. Following this, George won 9 legs in a row and prevailed 5–4 in sets. Caris also played in the Winmau World Masters five times, with his best performance coming in 1992, reaching the semi finals with wins over John Lowe, Bristow and Martin Adams before losing to Mike Gregory. Olga Karlatos (Greek: Όλγα Καρλάτου; born 20 April 1947) is a Greek actress known primarily for performing in Italian horror cinema .Karlatos is best known for performances in such films as Zombi 2, Murder Rock, Purple Rain, My Friends and Once Upon A Time In America. In 2007 Karlatos graduated from Kent University with a law degree and was admitted to the Bermuda Bar Association in 2010. Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 – October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer who won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. Tang Shu Shuen (Chinese: 唐書璇; pinyin: Táng Shūxuán; born 1941), also known as Cecile Tang Shu Shuen, is a former Hong Kong film director. Though her film career was brief, she was a trailblazer for socially critical art cinema in Hong Kong's populist film industry, as well as its first noted woman director. She also launched the territory's first serious film journal, Close-Up, in 1976. She ceased filmmaking and emigrated to the United States in 1979, becoming a respected restaurateur in Los Angeles. Many critics, however, see her influence in the so-called Hong Kong New Wave of edgy, groundbreaking young filmmakers in the late '70s and early '80s. Yoichi Sai (born 6 July 1949 in Nagano Prefecture, Japan) is a Japanese film director. His mother is Japanese, His father is zainichi Korean. His 2004 film Chi to hone won four Japanese Academy Awards, including two for Sai himself, for Best Director and Best Screenplay. He had previously received two nominations in the same categories for Tsuki wa dotchi ni dete iru. In 1999 he shot Buta no mukui (The Pig's Retribution), a film set in the lavish natural scenery of Okinawa, inspired by the 1996 Akutagawa Prize-winning eponymous novel by Eiki Matayoshi. The film won the Don Quixote prize at Locarno International Film Festival in 1999. He won the award for Best Screenplay at the 11th Yokohama Film Festival for A Sign Days. As an actor, he appeared in Nagisa Oshima's 1999 film Taboo. He is the current president of the Directors Guild of Japan.
