Sometime in the not so distant future, where everyone speaks through emojis, lives a 13-year-old boy called Pwyll.
Beca sees a ghostly figure of a young girl appearing around her rural hometown. The ghost seems to want Beca to help her in some way. Curiosity leads her to the house of an elderly neighbour, and Beca soon realises what she has to do.
