1817. Mani, Greece. Two rivals families decide to marry their children. After a while their grandchild is born and found dead in the river. Everyone blames Theofano, a girl, who is a witch.
Through the arch of time, a journey begins with a starting point in 1710... Mani lives under the rule of the Venetians. The Venetian governor of the area Silvio Esposito and his wife Renata live in the tower of the Lascarians, having won the respect and acceptance of the local community.
