The film tells the story of a chess coach who establishes a strong women's chess school in Georgia. The film is not biographical, although the prototype of the main character is the famous coach Vakhtang Karseladze.
The friends decide to marry the young veterinarian, Bachuta, and make a list of possible brides, but Bachuta is already in love with Taliko, who works with him on the farm.
A fellow villager takes away Bakha's fiancée. In order to seek revenge, Bakha asks the Kists for help. The Bakha community decides to cut off the village due to its connection with the Urzhuls.
