Rudra and Partho's desire to adopt a child leads Rudra to take the most crucial decision. Rudra decides to undergo sex reassignment surgery, so that they can be legally considered a couple and allowed to adopt a baby.

Delhi-based trans documentary filmmaker, Abhiroop Sen, wants to make a documentary film on the life of famous jatra thespian, Chapal Bhaduri. But in doing so Sen recognises that their life resembles Chapal's life. 'Just Another Love Story' revolves around the trauma, the setbacks, and the heartache experienced by the trans community.

The film is the effective exploration of a situation wherein a bereaved mother comes to terms with her late son’s sexual identity.

An insight into the life of late writer-director Rituparno Ghosh, the iconic cultural figure from West Bengal (India), who pushed and transgressed the boundaries of sexuality, feminism, and freedom of thought. The film is about an artist's relationship to his city Calcutta and is based on his personal memoirs, archival material, and conversations with cast, crew, and family.
