In a provincial town, a dangerous maniac appears, hunting women. On his account already several victims. The police, alarmed by the panic in the city, understand that it is necessary to act somehow. And the innocent people were captured, one of them is already waiting for the execution. Investigator Ignatov leads this case. He has to deal with lawlessness and arbitrariness of the investigating authorities, because of the mistakes of which the innocent were convicted, and the real criminal was never found.

Strategical factory should be evacuated. The movie shows how destinies of those working on the factory and their families are being broken. And yet - they have no choice, but to live.

Major Mlynsky is invited to the Chief of Staff, where he is promoted to Lt.-Colonel for his courage. Now Mlynsky is in charge of the new partisan's operation.

Katusha, a country girl, is seduced and abandoned by Prince Nekludov. Nekludov finds himself, years later, on a jury trying the same Katusha for a crime he now realizes his actions drove her to. He follows her to imprisonment in Siberia, intent on redeeming her and himself as well.

Good Morning

30 years after the end of World War II, a Soviet and an American journalist meet again for realizing post war paths of their countries.

Tank crew Officer-member Fedotov on the way from a hospital on visiting home became acquainted with young Sonya, mother of three children. After demobilization went back to her. Happiness of them was short. Sonya became ill and died. Soon her husband arrived after children, but left with a father only junior.
